Re: BRP lost, get a new one or apply for eVisa directly?

Ukcvas is for biometrics enrollmwnt only and if no free appointments available, unfortunately you have to pay. The type of appointment you make doesn't determine the speed of processing your application by UKVI. UKCVAS is a third party agency, not ukvi staff etc. Luckily I found my wallet and thus ...

Re: BRP lost, get a new one or apply for eVisa directly?

That is old information. There is no Premium Service Centre anymore, not for many years and there is no in person service. Thats strange then that Home office would give me this info in the email yesterday? Anyway, I applied for the replacement card and now I am taken to UKVCAS to book an in-person...

Re: BRP lost, get a new one or apply for eVisa directly?

The link clearly says it is for visa or ilr applications, ie immigration applications, and lists the eliginle categories. A brp replacements is not one of those. "This link opened when I clicked 'Premium Service Centre' in the email when I reported that my Brp is lost. This was the email text:...

Re: BRP lost, get a new one or apply for eVisa directly?

No my passport doesn't have a chip. My only option is to shell out another £500 and go for a priority appointment or else stay in UK for 6 months. There is no priority service for brp replacements as far as I am aware. It is not an immigration application. I was told in UKVIs email that I can apply...

Re: BRP lost, get a new one or apply for eVisa directly?

Hi, I lost my wallet and thus my BRP yesterday. I have reported it with UKVI and they have cancelled it and asked me to apply for a new one. As I have ILR, the timeline for the replacement BRP is upto 6 months, which is ridiculous. It's just how it's always worked. Don't forget that these are very ...

Hi, I lost my wallet and thus my BRP yesterday. I have reported it with UKVI and they have cancelled it and asked me to apply for a new one. As I have ILR, the timeline for the replacement BRP is upto 6 months, which is ridiculous. Also, I have also gotten the invite to apply for the eVisa? Can I di...

Re: Discrepancy in visitor visa date of leaving Uk and date of leaving accomodation

If there is a question it would be to explain the difference in dates ie what is happening between the dates. I think it is unlikely to be questioned but make sure your parents have an answer and it is the same answer. Also, there is nothing happening between dates as its only a mistake that I have...

This will be questioned at the biometric appointment or at the UK border?

Discrepancy in visitor visa date of leaving Uk and date of leaving accomodation

Hi, I am filing the visitor visa for my in-laws and it asks for leaving date at two places - one is about leaving the Uk and one is the date till one will stay at an accomodation. In my case, my in-laws will live at my house for the duration of their stay. I have mistakenly put two different dates (...

If the child is younger than 2 years old, just provide address of where you live and explain in a cover note.
Sure, will do, thanks!

Re: Baby born in UK to ILR parent, Indian passport, applying for CoE RoA in India

I have another query . I am applying for my baby's CoE from India and using the link mentioned here - https://www.gov.uk/right-of-abode/apply-for-a-certificate-of-entitlement . It doesn't give an option of applying for a newborn and hence is asking me question like last 2 years' address in the UK. F...

Re: Baby born in UK to ILR parent, Indian passport, applying for CoE RoA in India

Wow!, my query opened some sort of a Pandora's box. Anyway, thanks for the discussion everyone, my takeaway is to preserve my ILR BRP till the child turns 18 and wants BP.

Re: Baby born in UK to ILR parent, Indian passport, applying for CoE RoA in India

You can apply from abroad and the guidance states usually three weeks processing: https://www.gov.uk/right-of-abode/apply-for-a-certificate-of-entitlement Travel is allowed, it's not an immigration application. The applicant (child) is a British citizen. Yes thanks, that was one reason I wanted to ...

Re: Baby born in UK to ILR parent, Indian passport, applying for CoE RoA in India

Thanks for such a quick reply! Yes we want to return to India eventually and settle there, hence no point in having a British Passport and then converting back to Indian passport. Just wanted to check one more thing, if the child gives up British citizenship on turning 18, he could still get a UK vi...

Baby born in UK to ILR parent, Indian passport, applying for CoE RoA in India

I want to seek advice regarding my son's immigration status. He was born in the UK in October this year, while I had ILR. We have obtained an Indian passport for him as me and his mother are Indian citizens. We now want to apply for a Right to Abode (RoA) certificate of entitlement (CoE) for the bab...

Re: Pbs dependent when main applicant is ilr

The immigration rules state depednets will get a 4 year extension when the main visa holder has ILR. There is no discretion and you cannot choose a lesser time for the visa extension. Hi, Is it a 4 year extension by default for dependents when main visa holder has ILR, or a 3 year extension? I was ...
