Re: UK born children of EEA national applying for citizenship

I hope I didn't upset you. I thought it was a specific one for children born to parents who exercise their 'treaty rights'. So I am correct in understanding that it is the same application to the one online, with the exception that the online application isn't updated to ask regarding the PR status?

Re: UK born children of EEA national applying for citizenship

Much appreciated.

Can you please write the title of the form I need to pick up from the post office? I'm sure this is going to help many others facing the same issues as it is made so vague and unclear. Thank you.

Re: UK born children of EEA national applying for citizenship

Hi Alterhase_58, at last an answer!. Could you explain: 1. Is it and why is it different to EU settled in the UK? in other words why isnt' there an online option? 2. I read the link and it seems relevant, but where do I download the application from? 3. since i've got the PR at the time of my son's ...

Re: UK born children of EEA national applying for citizenship

Hi there, I've tried to open another thread but no one seems to pick it up. I wonder if you could clarify something that is anyway relevant to this post. I am a German national who attained my permanent residency in the UK in 2015. My son was born in 2018 and my understanding is that he is eligible ...

Passport Application for UK born child to PR parent from EU

Hello, I am a German national who attained my permanent residency in the UK in 2015. My husband is not from the UK but attained his PR as well. My son was born in 2018 and my understanding is that he is eligible for a British passport as he was born after I acquired my PR. I have not yet acquired my...

Practical questions regarding online citizenship application

Hi there, I have a few questions regarding the online application to apply for UK citizenship. 1) I am an EEA national and have acquired my permanent residence on 5th October 2015. The citizenship application form is asking me to provide details of all travel outside of the UK for "the last 5 y...

Re: UK born children of EEA national applying for citizenship

Clear. I have to ask though, is it the sort of fee people in my situation pay in most European countries and elsewhere? I mean, its not £250 for admin and handling fees, its £1400 per adult and almost a £1000 per child. What is the justification and are they looking to change it?

Re: UK born children of EEA national applying for citizenship

Thanks for your replies so far. So I see that fee reduction isn't an option. Do you mind if I narrow down the discussion to my children. If I understand your answer correctly: my youngest who was born after I've obtained my PR is eligible for citizenship at no major cost? And my two others who were ...

No Recourse to Public Funds while HO is processing ILR application

Dear Members, I've run into the following situation and need some insight if anyone has any clue what's happening: I'm an Israeli national who have been in the UK for over 10 years, married to a German national who attained her ILR last year. My 5 year residence card expired based on my current marr...

Re: Non-EEA spouse applying for indefinite leave to remain

Thank you for your reply. As I'm working on my application in wondering if there's an urgency in adding my three children into the same application. They have a German passport only because it was convenient at the time to issue. They are due to travel abroad with their mum in mid February so the ti...

Re: Non-EEA spouse applying for indefinite leave to remain

Hi NikiGo, I'd gladly you give you a reference, if I'm still in the country... I think in with you and Kamoe as far as understanding this grey area of the situation. However I don't see why I'd need a lawyer now if my wife has PR plus is holding off her citizenship application until certainty...

Re: Should a EU national wait until their family members get Permanent Residence, before applying for British citizenshi

Hi Kamoe, I'm just a lay person so excuse my ignorance in advance. However, from reading NikiGo assertion and through reading the outcome of the Lounes case, isn't it the case that by virtue of the EU national, now a dual national, being able to retain their EU rights (pre-Brexit) and despite their ...

Re: German National about to apply for UK citizenship

Thank you guys for all the brilliant info plus advice. I hope it helps others in my shoes. I have really decided to take it one day at a time, and not rush it. I have my PR since last year so the worse that can happen I won't apply for British citizenship. So what? I care more about being a German a...

Hey Kamoe I hope someone shed some light on the dual citizenship conundrum. Well done for posting a clear new thread on the matter which I will follow closely. Meantime, yes, my reluctance to apply now is the planned travels for Christmas. My wife seems to have decided to hold off her citizenship an...

Re: German National about to apply for UK citizenship

Hi and thank you for such quick reply. But how reliable is the German draft law? Is it 100% certain at this stage or dependant on all sorts of brexit and internal German politics? If its safe to rely on then would you say in alright to plan the application for say July 2019? I'm only asking since my...

Re: Non-EEA spouse applying for indefinite leave to remain

and excuse me if I throw yet another quick question on the same topic: I notice on the EEA PR form that my wife when applied could have included me as part of the application, couldn't she? I don't know when exactly it was but it might have been too early. The added question is if there isn't away t...
