i do not think it should be a problem finding work as long as you speak english. i know people with the working visa and the employers do not insisit that they work partime.

you should apply for residence permit before December assuming your husband is from republic of ireland and not northern ireland. it will be 5 years and you can work while they process the application.

my husband was in a similar situation and was advised to become a british citizen so that should anything happen to him abroad the british embassy is more efficient than other embassys an he can easily get help.
