Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi! Thank you for sharing your documents journey. Did you have any issues regarding customs on the Irish side? My post office gave me a heads up that there may be a customs fee that the receiver has to pay (in my case - both the PO boxes for passport application and FBR), and cannot be paid by the ...

I’m trying to help someone with an FBR application and it really isn’t my area of expertise (I know more about applications via residency.) A) Should they include a divorce certificate if their parents are divorced? They have all birth/death/marriage certificates, but not the divorce cert. They wan...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

The passport application cover page will have the requirements for documentation needed. They list out what needs to be original and what is allowed via notarized copy of original. The rules are more lenient now than last year. It seems a bit random as to when you get the address check. Officially t...

Hi everyone, I sent my application away on 30/06/22. Documents were received on 08/07/22. I got an email on 23/03/23 mentioning a problem with my Grandfather's death certificate not being original. In this email, they also asked me to confirm my address which I did. After this email, I sent the cor...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi all, I write because I have no idea if my documents of confirmation of address and a request for a copy of my mother's passport was ever received by the FBR team. The request was made mid December 2022 and I was able to obtain these (passport copy) at the beginning of March 2023. I requested con...
