Employer won't let me work with out an acknowledgment letter

Dear all, Last week I applied for an extension of my stay in the UK as a Tier 1 (General) migrant. My visa ran out yesterday and having applied for an extension prior to the expiry date I know my status would remain the same and I can work legally while my application is being decided. The problem I...

Thanks for posting all the useful links. After reading through the posts, I find lots of conflicting information about how early you can apply for extension. Is 6 months OK? Is 5 Ok? etc. I called the Home Office this morning and enquired about Tier 1 extensions and I was told 28 days before your cu...

Just called the Home Office about my application and I was given the standard reply by this nice lady that I should wait for 10 weeks before we give you any progress report. What she did say that applications up to the 14th of May has been allocated to the case workers and mine was on the 7th, atlea...

Candidkay, On how much of that money have you paid tax? Normally, if you contract as an employee of an Umberalla Company, your Gross will be less than the actual Invoiced amount since you pay Employers NI as well. Your Gross goes down if you claim expenses... If you give us a break down, I think I c...

hussainkothari, Are you sure that for Maintenance funds the statements have to be 3 months exactly from the date of application? To be more precise, does it mean that if the date of my application is tomorrow, 7th May 2008, then my bank statements have to be from 6th March 2008 to 6th May 2008? Can...

If you open your own company you will qualify as self employed. At the same time you can still contract work by using an Umbrella Company. This way you can apply as employed since you will be an employee of that Umbrella Company. There is a small feee for their work though such as invoicing your age...

Based on your link from the Home Office it is a must to submit an accoutant letter, surely, but you can still submit a similar letter if you are contracting but as an employee of an Umbrella Company. This is much easier since you do not have to open your own company and still have the benefits of se...

Can you please explain your self a bit more when you say 'many rejections on basis of accountant letter'. Is this because there was only one evidence submitted? OR just because they refused it for no reason! If you have Bank Statements showing payments made and Accountants letter showing the payment...

I would suggest you read the guidance notes properly. The procedure is not complex and try to keep it simple and straight forward. If your earnings documents are simple print outs, just get your accountant to stamp and initial them and submit it along with an accountant letter which you already have...
