Re: UKM application experience and timeline

P.S. don’t call them. You’ll never get an answer. They use an off site service center and they don’t actually have any relationship to the Home Office. Just email and wait.

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I used: NationalityBiometricsOverseas@homeoffice.gov.uk But perhaps you should use a different email to send it just in case. Do you have an appointment letter at all? My experience is that you can take the appointment letter for Biometrics to any USCIS service center and they can squeeze you in. If...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Greetings all, After reading the many helpful posts here, I've been preparing for the UKM process for a while now, and thought I had everything lined up, including British referees. However, I've run into an unexpected snag with document notarization, and would appreciate comments from those of you...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

You really only need good color photocopies without notarization. Just send them in. If they want originals they will ask. They will still make a decision within 6 months. They are very good at keeping the process moving. So do not sweat things. If the tired old documents you have don’t copy well, g...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Sorry but you are over-worrying. Send it USPS, it will be fine. I sent mine no problem. Also old documents are more trouble than they are worth. I got new official copies from the UK in less than 2 weeks and they were perfectly fine.

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Don’t worry too much. If they need originals they will email you and tell you, but I had no issue with color photocopies. However, mine were new and recent. I recommend new and recent because they now use anti-counterfeit paper which they did not have 15 years ago. It is going to take just around 6 ...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Based on my experience: 1. Originals of birth certificates are useless. You need easily obtainable official copies. Contact the registrar of births and obtain official copies. Send either the originals or good color photo copies. British birth certificates are often easier to obtain than American or...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Any day now you will get an email with a letter appointment for Biometrics. After you go to the appointment and send in your documents what about 6 months. No further emails or notices. You will receive your documents and a response in about 6 months.

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

UKM update and timeline. I’ll give the most important dates: 20 Apr 23 Online application UKM-Romein USA 22 Sep 23 Approval Letter 06 Dec 23 Citizenship Ceremony In addition there was the mailing of documents to Liverpool. So long at that occurs wishing 30-90 days of application you are fine. Biome...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

It was unusual. In the United States, Biometrics for US and UK (and some others) are completed by a contractor, not a government agent. The contractors are paid less and want to avoid taking Biometrics from the wrong person so they overlook their own rules so times. Mine was just a one-off. My appo...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

@Dfernand. You have only one case, so it is everything to you. These are trained professionals who have seen thousands of cases (or at least hundreds) and they have a team to collaborate with and supervisors who are highly trained to view those things and even on staff solicitors to review questiona...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

@Dfernand. I honestly have no idea to any of your questions. I reviewed these Boards and people said they got their acceptance letter in the packet with their documents via DHL. I am only in month 4 1/2 and am entering the patience state of only having to wait another 2 months, so I really am just g...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

:D  :?:  Mind you the wait for 6 months is much shorter than Ireland 🇮🇪 which can take 18 months or more, the United States 🇺🇸 which can take 2 years or more. But here’s how the wait feels for United Kingdom 🇬🇧. 1. Month 1 hustling to get documents and prepare application. Checking the ...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

That was my understanding also but the most recent application took longer than the ones a couple of years ago so maybe personnel were dispatched elsewhere or there were retirements or something. In any event, we will probably have to be patient. I think the reason for the overnight delivery may hav...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Wow! Congratulations. But it took all of 6 months. I applied 20 April 23 so I guess I am looking at October, bummer. I guess with all the post-Brexit requests and all they are quite busy and with the need for Visas for summer tourism, they are working a lot of different cases.

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Pallykin; Good luck, the waiting is the most difficult part. I thought it was more the application date than the Biometrics, as Biometric processing times should not be more than 30 days for anyone, in fact Biometrics in the US can be done in a couple of days (the criminal review part). So I am hop...

Any updates on status? I filed a month after you and still waiting. 20 Apr 23 application, 24 May 23 Biometrics complete. I am waiting for documents to be returned. It’s only been 3 months, but I was hoping I would hear something.

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Hi, I just finished an 8-month odyssey from application to passport, and because this forum is the most helpful thing on the whole internet I'll add my data point. My application was straightforward UKM, my mother was a citizen by birth. I'm in the US and I was grateful for the advice here that all...
