Hey there, We have had a similar case. The refusal letter we received is a bit shoddy and talks about showing proof of employment when in fact we did not need to show any employment as we were going the savings route solely. We are thinking of appealing the decision but have read everywhere that it ...
Hi All, I am thinking of appealing this decision rather than reapplying as I don't really know what else I would submit even if I reapplied. Plus the ECO seems to have gotten the financial eligibility section all wrong, so I do want to challenge that. I am just not sure about: a) Whether to hire a s...
Hi there, Yes, I filled all details in Appendix 2 including the source of savings. For the 3rd bank account (the Indian account), I included all details in the additional information section. Yes, the funds have been in the accounts for more than 6 months and all the statements show that. I agree - ...
Hi All, After a 3 month wait, we received a refusal for our UK spouse visa application. Here is a background of our situation: a) We got married in 2008 and lived together in UK from November 2008 - June 2015 b) In June 2015, we both decided to take a break from our work and decided to travel togeth...
I'd be interested in knowing this too. I tried contacting the UKVI by email (paid £5.48) and the agent didn't even read the question properly and just replied with a generic answer which didn't even make sense. I followed up a few times but no response - that's money down the drain but more importan...
Well even our documents were signed for by 'Cottingham'. This was on 14th July - haven't received any communication from UKVI since then. Haven't received the documents back either yet - I guess that is normal??
Hi All, So our application (my wife's application) was submitted online on 4th July, biometrics done on 7th July (at VFS Delhi - Passport kept by the staff to be forwarded to British High Commission), and the documents reached Sheffield on 14th July. Both of us are in Delhi at the moment. Our jobs r...
Hey Simon, I did request official bank statements from this bank in India (it's one of the major banks in India), however they said they only print. So I just got them to print and stamp+sign each page of the statement. We are also submitting statements from 2 other banks - both of these are in UK a...
Hi Experts, My mind is working in overdrive and am getting a bit nervous about this situation: Online application submitted and payment made on 4th July Biometrics on 7th July I had to wait till 10th July to print statements for one of the cash savings sources - my Indian bank account. Statement is ...
Hi Seagul, Yes that was my concern. The first document was printed in 2015, so that is 2 years old. However, I submitted online application on 4th July. But, before posting the documents to Sheffield today (11th July), I also included a latest printout of the deed (which is exactly the same as the o...
Thanks for that information :) I had another question regarding the "Keep My Passport" service offered by VFS - has anyone used it for settlement applications? Also, is there an option to avail the service after you have submitted the passport? I wasn't aware of this service when we went f...
Hi, It seems you didn't quite understand my question - perhaps I was not clear. Of course I am aware of the other documents (relationship, maintenance, english etc.) and all those are ready. What I really wanted to ask was if it's a problem that a document (in our case the title deed was printed off...
Hi All, I am a British citizen and we applied for a spouse visa for my wife from New Delhi. Both of us will be travelling to UK once the visa is approved (fingers crossed). Right, here is my question: We submitted the application online on 4th July and had her biometrics on 7th July at VFS Delhi. Si...
We went for our appointment at VFS New Delhi today and can confirm that this is the new procedure - they scan and keep your passport, take your biometrics, and ask you to send all documents (including forms) to Sheffield directly.
Hey All, UPDATE: we went in for our biometric appointment at VFS New Delhi and thought I'd share our experience. Basically, the staff at VFS is clueless if you ask them ANYTHING about the documents. I asked them if I should get my British passport photocopies notarised, they said they couldn't comme...
Sorry for the nudge but thinking of sending the documents in the next couple of days so would be very grateful if someone could shed some light on this
Thank you ever so much :) I will try and get an original letter from my friend. You mentioned in one of the earlier responses that we don't need to show any proof of us living together in UK from 2008 - 2015. How about from 2015 to now? We have been travelling a lot together and every time we take a...
Thanks CR0001 :-) As the application date approaches, we are faced with some more questions, so would be really grateful if you could shed some light on this: a) For accommodation, we will be showing that we'll be staying with a close friend until we find suitable accommodation for ourselves. My fri...
Thanks a lot once again for the quick reply :) Apologies but I just had a doubt after reading mb7891's response again - according to mp7891's response, the date of the application will be when I submit it online and pay for it, right? So the cash savings that we have to show that have been in our ac...
Thanks a lot mb7891 - really appreciate your prompt reply :) I also wanted to ask a couple more questions a) We lived together in UK from 2008 - 2015 and then left to travel. Ever since, we have been travelling together. Do we need to show any proof that we have been living together since 2008 (when...
Hi Experts, I am a British National and my wife has an Indian passport. Both of us used to live in London from 2008-2015. Since 2015 we have been travelling around the world and also spending some time in India. We are about to apply for my wife's spouse visa from VFS New Delhi. a) Could anyone plea...
