Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

I stopped quoting others here as the scrolling was getting out of control :D I would encourage others to contact their TD's about these ceremonies. It's not much effort to send them an email and ask that this issue be brought up in debates with the MoJ. There's legislation that now supports this ver...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

Think it may be helpful if many of us who are still awaiting a decision writes to our TD for the need to push for naturalisation without the ceremony until at least the backlog is cleared. This seems to be a deliberate waste of resources and time. Well, I spoke with my solicitor about it, but she s...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

I have just sent my first (rather lengthy) email to a local TD about the need for these ceremonies given the recent amendments to the law and current backlog we have with the hope they raise this issue to the MoJ. I will wait a bit and give them time to reply. If they don't then I will move on to th...

First, congratulations to those who have completed the ceremony and are now one step closer to receiving their passports. Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

That is obviously a rhetorical question, but I just can’t see how they will do it as previously claimed by the department if they continue to force ceremony attendance to grant citizenship. With these kind of numbers that is at least another five or six ceremonies just to tackle the backlog, not in...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

I’m reading that 3,000 people were granted citizenship at the ceremony yesterday. Combined with the 4,000 from the June ceremonies, how in the world do they plan to get through the backlog of over 20,000 by end of year at this current rate? That is obviously a rhetorical question, but I just can’t s...

Re: Citizenship Acknowledgement still pending

there is no timelimit for acknowledgement. they give 19 months (https://www.irishimmigration.ie/how-to-become-a-citizen/become-an-irish-citizen-by-naturalisation/)for overall processing. you can email them for updates at Citizenship Info <citizenshipinfo@justice.ie> You can email them, but to set y...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

I’ve just realized we are talking about two separate things but connected: I’ve got my invitation for vetting in May 2023 after applying for the actual citizenship in November 2022. Yesterday(14/09/2033) i’ve got the actual vetting form from the NVB/Garda. Hope this makes sense now. You APPLIED in ...

Re: Citizenship Applications From 2021 Pending Approval

We are all aware that how they send out invitations is a mystery, but I'm hoping this time there are no applicants from 2023. I understand wanting your approval and ceremony to arrive as soon as possible, but what I don't understand is why would you hope that others are not selected to be invited t...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

New citizenship ceremony will be on 2nd October in Dublin. Hopefully this will speed up the process a bit.. https://www.irishimmigration.ie/citizenship-ceremony-october-2nd-2023/ It's not going to speed anything up. If they wanted to speed things up, they would forgo the need for a ceremony entirel...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

Has everyone received e-vetting invitation on 22 May is still waiting for next step? Hope I'm not alone...I applied in Dec 2022 Yes, many of us 22 May folks are still waiting. It will likely be several more months (maybe by end of year) to clear all of us based on the stats they provided a month or...

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

Postman came but did not have the cert. It'll be 8 weeks of wait by tomorrow morning. Am I the only one still waiting for the cert in this thread now? I'm still clinging on to some hope, but it's dwindling for sure. Why not contact your TD? It's a very simply query at this point, especially if you'...

Re: Leaving Ireland after getting the Irish Passport

The handbook they give you at the ceremony even says you're allowed to live anywhere in the EU, though this annual "intent to retain Irish citizenship" is annoying. Of course you can as you're an EU citizen. The problem here is that they have one standard for naturalised citizens and anot...

Re: Leaving Ireland after getting the Irish Passport

The relevant parts of the Act were suspended a few years ago and I don't believe they've been re-instated (https://www.ihrec.ie/supreme-court-rules-that-sections-of-law-revoking-citizenship-are-unconstitutional-and-need-revision-through-oireachtas/#:~:text=Supreme%20Court%20Rules%20that%20Sections,...

Re: Leaving Ireland after getting the Irish Passport

I’d actually be interested to know how often they’ve actually done this for benign reasons such as simply living outside of the state for 7+ years. Meaning, in a situation where there wasn’t some initiating factor such as a major criminal offence in another country where the Irish government would w...

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

It's just my opinion, but each of you still waiting should be contacting your TD's until it arrives. It's completely unacceptable that you've done everything you're supposed to do; I.e. provided loads of paperwork, waited your turn for months to years, paid expensive fees, sorted your affairs to att...

I think, they doing phase approach. First phase who got e-vetting viewed before end of July will be approved and go to ceremony September, the rest who got e-vetting in May, but didn't have NVB yet will be invited December I think you're being too optimistic. Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

What I dont understand is how more evetting invitations are sent and then processed and those that were sent on 22 May just get stuck with no feedback or remote expectation on when next steps will be received. But we are forced to see others that have applied after be approved and processed ? Pleas...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

I've stated this before but at their current rate the ISD is processing these evetting invitations (before the NVB gets them and asks us to submit it) it will take another 5-6 month before we all get request from the NVB.
