Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

Is anyone else that received the e-vetting invitation on 22 May still waiting for their Garda e-vetting link to start the process? A number of us in that batch of invites are still waiting for the Garda link to proceed. A number of us also reached out to the ISD for a status update and received a s...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

Great information! So do we know if it’s cleared all necessary stages (I.e. 5 of each?) and is only waiting to be signed into law? See the details at the foot of the information from the link that Nala2021 supplied earlier today. Again, I think it worth encouraging TDs to ensure that the bill is en...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

After reading it over again it was only a number of amendments to the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act 1956, which were all agreed to. It seems to me that this is now in place and the Minister can make use of this when/as required. I could be entirely wrong, but if true, I’d expect this would b...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

There is an amendment for the Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2022 recently proposed (Not signed yet into law as far as I could follow). This amendment briefly implies other ways of naturalization other than the ceremony when it is required due to high volume of applications et...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

So if that's the only requirement, it can certainly be done with a lot less pomp, if only to clear the backlog. That's how Dublin one was done in RDS, as far as I know - one day only, less notice, all that. Hopefully they'll do another one between now and Dec, but you never know. I've thought a lot...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

Its not a commitment…. As its says OUR EXPECTATION so they are aiming for it, but it’s not guaranteed. My point in saying they made a commitment was that they put something in writing regarding this backlog and their plans to address it. They are never going to guarantee anything, but what they hav...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

I was referring to the debate link that was just provided and the official notification that many of us received. I agree that you can poke holes in the wording, however, at least they have communicated something positive towards clearing the backlog. I also think there is some added pressure as a n...

I am also still waiting. I emailed them to ask whether I missed something and I got told. Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your email. Correspondence from this office will issue in due course. This was two weeks ago and still nothing ? Any advice ? A few of us reached out and received similar response...

Re: E vetting and citizenship application

Hello everyone. I submitted my answers to the e-vetting invitation on 22 May. I have heard nothing since. I need to go away and I have read that if you do not respond to the second email within 28 days od receiving it, then your entire application is cancelled. So I am asking, when you get the seco...

You can contact citizenshipinfo@justice.ie
giving them the application number and date of birth
Have you actually had any luck with getting a response? It appears many people say they never hear back from them.

Re: Travel abroad week after the citizenship ceremony

Is it still valid for your return date? If so, it would function in the same way if you traveled before the ceremony. Until you have your certificate or Irish passport, this is the only proof you have to show that you're a permanent resident.

Re: Stamp 4 parents, baby born abroad

Apologies, I misread your original post. Yes there would have been an opportunity for the baby to qualify for Irish citizenship (should the parents meet the reckonable residence and other requirements). Without the baby obtaining an Irish birth certificate it doesn’t seem likely in this case and jus...

Unless one of the parents are either Irish or British citizens, their baby being born in Ireland does not afford them citizenship by birth.

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

The only shred of hope I have that all of us in the 2021/2 application group will complete naturalisation this year, is due to the new process they have in place. They already admitted (and we noticed them) going out of sequence for some 2023 applications to ensure this new process works as expected...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

Tracking where? On the Garda vetting site? This would have nothing to do with the ISD. Have you tried contacting the vetting bureau? I phoned the vetting bureau but they told me that they won't communicate direct with applicants; only with the institution that made the application. So I was told to...

I wanted to know how many others were also still waiting to start the e-vetting process. My e-vetting process started in March (I applied for naturalisation in May 2022) but appears to have stalled. I suspect that the influx of vetting requests has knocked back my vetting application. Tracking show...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

Complain to your local TD. Show them how the 2023 applications are being processed in a few short months, whilst 2021 and 2022 applicants in many cases haven't even reached e-vetting stage. Utter disgrace!!! People have the right to do this, but if you read the link in my original post this was alr...
