Re: Permanent residence card fee

Don’t forget to first make an appointment with the Garda immigration officer as you can’t just show up. It can be several weeks before they will see you and they will inform you what documents to bring with you on the day.

Re: Permanent residence card fee

If you are referring to a permanent resident document as part of the withdrawal agreement (and it seems you might be; EUTR1, etc.) then there is no fee.

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

On second thought, you were probably referring to the assumption we were all making that the next ceremony would be in March as it has been in the past. For some reason this one was pulled into February, perhaps due to venue availability. That said, I would assume the next one will likely be in June...

I read in another post that it's likely there will be a ceremony in March.
I hope they do for the sake of others getting through this, but I would not count on it as that would be highly unusual.

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

I’m really curious how they decide whom to invite. You would assume it would be first-come-first-served and yet, as we’ve seen, that’s not the case. Could it be that the selection process is completely random? Nobody fully understands much of this process in terms of how the department makes their ...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

This one is at the end of February, which looking at the past ceremonies, is normally in early March since they added a few extra last year due to the backlog.

Therefore I would say the next one would be around the May/June timeframe.

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

I am still waiting attended ceremony 18 Dec @ 11am. Sent an email 2 days ago got an auto reply that your ticked will be dealt shortly. There was a note in auto email that "Please be advised, if you were in attendance to the Ceremony on the 18th and 19th of December 2023, your certificate of Na...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

Received my ceremony invitation for 26 February at 2pm. The email does say we will receive our naturalisation certificate in the weeks after, which is counter to the recent update on the website. Invitation email said 2pm, but once I registered it now says 3pm. I better get there early knowing how ...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

Who knows? My husband’s payment was processed on the day of the last December ceremony and I was really hoping he would be invited to this next one but now I’m wondering whether there’s a backlog. Will let you know as soon as we hear anything (if we hear anything!). Less than 2 weeks to go so surel...

Re: First time passport question

I spoke to a DFA agent via the web chat this morning and they confirmed only one government issued identification is necessary to submit for a first time passport. For example, if you have an in-date PSC card with a photo on it, a normal (non-certified) photocopy of the front and back is all that is...

Re: First time passport question

Appreciate it. I do travel often, so if it’s within a month I’d be okay with sending the passport. I know their webchat does work a bit during this process; it’s certainly more transparent than the citizenship application. I’d rather just (over) send everything so they have no reason to ask for mor...

How long was it before you received your passport back?

First time passport question

This has probably been answered here before but I cannot locate it. I am confused on what identification documents are needed after reading the Department of Foreign Affairs website for applying for a first time passport as a naturalised Irish citizen NOT born on the island of Ireland but IS a curre...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

Does anyone think they’ll still send out approval letters at this stage? If the December ceremony is anything to go on, people received their approval decision letters right up to the week before the ceremony. Those people had to be incredibly quick with submitting the payment and required certific...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

If it’s first half of March, they’ll have to get their skates on. We’re already 8 Feb and from what I gather they announce it a good month in advance. I’d love to accompany my husband (he’s the wannabe citizen) but I’m working full time and we’re abroad so it would be great to have a bit of notice....

I paid my fee 950 on January 4th, 2024, but I haven't received any response or acknowledgment regarding the completion of the fee process.
