Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

13 weeks of wait since June 20th and counting up. I email the department weekly but get no responses. They're doing a new ceremony in 2 weeks on October 2nd. I had originally submitted a Freedom of Information request to get an update on my certificate, the officers kept trying to persuade me to wit...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

As in maybe I should consider going to the October 2nd ceremony in an attempt to try to talk to someone? I really hope it doesn't come to that, but I might end up mustering some courage to try it.

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

I only got a response after reaching out for help from my local TD, who contacted the department on my behalf. Their response was 4 weeks ago, saying that my certificate is in the very final stages of processing and that it'll be with me "very soon". Since then, I haven't gotten any respon...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

I still haven't received my certificate after attending the June 20th ceremony. My inbox is checked every other hour and I send emails to the department every other day. Yeah it's crazy!

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

Appreciate the dose of optimism! We had to cancel our October and November trips. No certificate this morning, but I sent my weekly round of emails to the department. Last update I got was in early August saying that my certificate is in the final stages of processing and will be with me very soon, ...

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

Thank you for asking! Still no certificate unfortunately, on Tuesday it'll be 12 weeks since the ceremony.

I submitted a Freedom of Information request 2 weeks ago and haven't heard back from that one either, but FOI requests can take a while.

Any luck, HappyDuck?
Still no certificate unfortunately. This new process of getting the cert later by post feels frustrating, it's almost 11 weeks and I might get to 3 months before getting the certificate, and then there'll be another 2 months wait to get the first time passport.

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

Cheers for the heads up about the passport submission!

I'm still waiting for my cert. It's close to 10 weeks now, so I submitted a FOI request in desperation.

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

Managed to get a reply through my local TD. The department is saying that my certificate is not lost, it's just in the final stages of processing. If anyone else is waiting for their certificate. I hope this also gives you some hope that you're not the only ones and that there still some certs being...

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

I've contacted all of my local TDs as it has been radio silence from the Department.

I'm left in limbo as the department retained my stateless irish travel document and left me with no ID or documentation.

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

Postman came but did not have the cert. It'll be 8 weeks of wait by tomorrow morning.

Am I the only one still waiting for the cert in this thread now? I'm still clinging on to some hope, but it's dwindling for sure.

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

Same situation here, Attended on the 20th and patiently waiting for the certificate. They took my blue travel document (I'm not a refugee but I'm stateless and have no nationality since birth).

Hope we all hear back soon.

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

Congrats!

My ceremony was on June 20th and still haven't received the certificate yet. I was wondering the same about whether there would be enough time before a holiday we booked for October between the cert and the passport application.

Re: Passport taken off at the Citizenship Ceremony

Update: The Citizenship department confirmed that I shouldn't need any travel document or passport to apply for an Irish Passport and that my Irish travel document was intentionally taken off me as part of their process. I'll just supply as many forms of ID that I can provide and maybe attach a lett...

Re: Passport taken off at the Citizenship Ceremony

I've emailed the Citizenship department explaining my situation and this was their reply: Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your email. Please be advised your Irish Travel Document has to be surrendered once you receive your Irish citizenship. However, I can't apply for a first time Irish passport witho...

Passport taken off at the Citizenship Ceremony

Hi, I've attended the Citizenship Ceremony last Tuesday and realized later that they had taken my passport off me, just wondering if that's standard or if others still have their passports. My second question if anyone knows is how long does it usually take for the Citizenship Certificate to be sent...
