Re: AM IN THE SAME BOAT AS YOU

does it worth taking the IELTS test or should i just write a letter in support of my english ability. Note : I did my MSc here in UK. Judging by the standard of English used in that sentence alone, I would advise that you avoid taking any type of English language test unless specifically requested.

So it takes like 4 months for a standard postal application? That is going to kill our holiday plans then unless we opt for the 'premium' service, damn cheek though, I'd love to know where all of this money is going but I guess it disappears into the same black hole as most of these types of funds i...

Well I think we should be OK on the documentation front then as we just had a look through our paperwork and we do have 3 things with both of our names on stretching the 3 years as well as individual bank statements and NHS cards registered to the same doctor on the same date 2 years ago. Do anybody...

Bunac 2011 will open this December. Assuming that you will be 18 by then I recommend that you look into it. The YMS system for Canada is a pain in the arse for UK citizens since it was outsourced to Bunac but will still be considerably easier and cheaper than any other possible route for you right n...

Well the rent and council tax bills both have our names on them and our passports both carry stamps from various countries on the same dates plus we have pictures of us together. Do you think that we would need to have a lot more than that? Yes, something like six documents spread over the 24 month...

Unsure of which application form for unmarried partner

Just a couple of quick questions really, I am British and my gf is here as a student from Japan on a bio visa which expires at the end of September 2010. We will have been living together in the UK for 2 consecutive years this August and the rental agreement has both of our names on it. Is it FLR(M)...

Really? I know they usually question her when she comes back in after we have been on holidays etc but I didn't know how strict they were on things like that. The only real reason why we would prefer to do it before leaving is because you obviously need proof of having somewhere to live etc. Well i...

I think these guys are right, as far as I can see it seems like a fairly straightforward, if not slightly costly, situation. You certainly don't need any immigration consultancy or lawyers to be involved. Your wife is from one of the most trusted countries in the UK's book and your child would inher...

Re: Immigration Visa Services UK

I had two brief chats with them a few months ago, they seemed to know their stuff, but I couldn't get too much information out of them as (probably quite understandably) they were reluctant to talk too much before I paid my £400. That's plus visa fees I assume since an FLR from North America when ...

Thanks for the quick response, much appreciated. I feared that would be the case. The problem is that we are looking at a temporary move to Canada this year on a one year visa and if we have to come back after the one year then we figured that it would be easier and safer to get the visa here before...

Applying for common law, less then two years living together

Hi, Is it at all possible to apply for common law status after less than two years of living together. My girlfriend and I have been together as a couple for over two years now, however we have only lived together on paper for around 18 months. She has a clean immigration record and has been in the ...

Applying for Canada WHP if not a student from the UK

Could somebody please clarify something for me? Most of the websites I have seen stipulate that you need to be a gap year student or recent graduate to participate in the Canadian WHP with a UK passport, however the info on the Canadian embassy website states that there is also a General WHP for non...

After marriage , it may be possible for her to switch ( 285 ). FLR(M) holders may work . Thanks, we do intend to marry at some point in the not too distant future, however we're both still young (mid-20's) so we were trying not to rush into it too much if it can be avoided. Her country do not have ...

Applying/Moving for FLR (M) from Student visa

Hi, My girlfriend is currently on a course which expires next year and we were looking at a possible 'partner' type UK visa whilst we figure out our options and decide where we want to go and what we want to do. I am a British-born citizen. Does anybody know if this would be possible? Only I had a l...

Leaving/re-entering just before visa expiry

My girlfriend is a Japanese on a student Visa which is due for renewal at the end of October. We have been invited for a weekend in Dublin to joint celebrate my birthday and the birthday of one of my friends in the same period and were just wondering if my girlfriend would be OK to leave/re-enter on...

No you should be fine with all of that as long as your record is clean, in fact what you have there is really much more than enough, a passport and return ticket would usually suffice.

Enjoy your trip. :)
