Thank you psdesai for the quick reply. Does "actively looking for employment" mean that I have to be registered with the jobcentre, because I have not done that - If any queries come up, then I do have emails to prove that I am constantly on the lookout for jobs - would that be sufficient....

Hi, Can anyone please advise if there is any maximum duration that you can be in the 'unemployed' status whilst on Tier-1.. I lost my job in Nov, so its close to 6 months now.. is there any rule which says that you have to leave the country if you have not found a job within a certain amount of time...

Hi guys,

Just spoke to the home office... they say thay since I have my Tier-1 stamped on the passport - even if my current WP gets extended - as long as I dont have the WP visa stamped on the passport, it should be OK...

The latest visa on the passport is what matters...

But since I have switched from WP to Tier-1 now, isnt the existing WP void...? And ideally speaking the application to extend this void WP is the one which should be rejected right..? And even if the WP is extended, unless I get the WP visa stamped on my passport, the Tier-1 should hold good right.....

Tier1 approved query about WP

I had submitted a tier-1 and got it approved yesterday.In the mean time my employer had submitted WP extension application last week.
Should this affect my approved tier1..? should the employer withdraw my WP extension application..?

Thanks grant1...The visa is valid till 25th Jul 2011,so the stamping must have been on the same day,dont know the approval date of tier1,will post details as soon as i get the docs.

I had applied through a consultant on 16th Jun(WP to Tier1),tier1 approved on 25th Jul and my consultant got the docs today after 1 full month....Had sent an urgent treatment request last week as my visa is expiring on Sep 10th .....
