Re: Approval letter

"We will send you an email advising you of the Minister’s proposal to grant you a Certificate of Naturalisation subject to the completion of the naturalisation process." "This page was last updated on April 18, 2024" I was curious so I went to the Department of Justice website &...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

Someone told me that the Assigned Team CMUB was slower than CMUA. When this guy got his e-vetting invitation last year, he was assigned to CMUB. He waited for 6 months and those he knew who already received e-vetting invitation the same time as him and were assigned to CMUA got their e-vetting link...

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

It could be a long old haul for me as I've decided to go down the association route. Could be, but possibly they can let you be in line with others, taking your residence into account; time will tell. And yes, taking a bit longer now for mental peace on years ahead is a better optino IMO. If going ...

Re: Naturalisation certificate post ceremony timeframe

So do we need to renew the IRP after the ceremony and before receiving the certificate? If yes, what stamp type? Why do you ask? Do you need to travel? Technically, you are a citizen from the date of your ceremony and a citizen cannot be granted a visa, because, well, they're a citizen, get a passp...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

I applied Dec 2022 too, got a duplicate e-vetting invitation on 03 Nov, and filled the form and sent again. Today got the email that the e-vetting (the second one which can be seen from the reference number) has been forwarded to NVB and just wait for email from NVB. So it's a good sign, at least t...

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

I asked my solicitor this very questions when it took them 5 months to acknowledge my application and this amount of time tipped me over into 2023. He said the 19 month processing timeline starts from when they received it, not when they acknowledged it regardless of the number it's assigned. It ma...

It might be based on registration time - I had my application sent in December '21, but got it registered with -22 number, so I assume I was counted as '22 applicant.
Almost half of the 2022 applicants have the application number with 23.

Re: E-Vetting Invitation & E-Vetting Process

From a poll in a Facebook group, out of 188 votes received in May for ISD invitations, 94 votes currently indicate that they have not yet received an NVB link. I'm not on facebook, but found a bit comfort from that, so thanks, especially since I haven't received an NVB link since 22 May 2023. I'm n...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

That is obviously a rhetorical question, but I just can’t see how they will do it as previously claimed by the department if they continue to force ceremony attendance to grant citizenship. With these kind of numbers that is at least another five or six ceremonies just to tackle the backlog, not in...

Sounds like it’s a long wait until next year.

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

I wouldn't consider it harsh - unfortunately, nobody reads the text unless it's in big bold letters, that's all. I know someone from January..2022 who is still not approved (and it's bizzare), so ISD might prioritize previous years now, hence no invite. Also search the email(s) you used for applica...

Re: Traffic Offence- Post naturalisation application submitted

1) It might be considered, but traffic offence, especially since it's the only one on the record, doesn't usually have any impact. Tell your friend not to stress about it. 2) Neither of those two - you declare any offences that happened during your lifetime. The list of offences there, though, does...
