But I dont have any utility bills because my landlord pay all of them, can I just send a copy of my passport and driving licence?? Thanks it's a mighty relief and I wish you the best of luck. Your driving licence should contain your current address. If it doesn't, you need to get it updated asap as...

Thanks to you both. As I said, best luck to everyone who's still waiting. Unlike many others there will be no celebration activities of any sort for me as i'm just glad that it is finally over. Life can carry on as normal now. :) Can I ask where the visa was stamped? Was it Liverpool? thanks It's Cr...

To bb21: Really?? Their database can be wrong?? so I better get my SAR then, anyone got any sample letter to send to UKBA for SAR?? Yes especially at the beginning of the operation of the current system. From my SAR records it appears that prior to 2004/05 they would just supply you with photocopie...

Regarding (1), check your SAR carefully and it should be in there on the database, and w.r.t. receipts, good move and see my post in the sticky topic for SET(O) 10-year stay. I posted them with my application for ILR together with an explanation letter as the recorded date on the database was wrong....

Shall I be cheeky and mention my news, given the ever growing suspicion amongst us lately that HO 'spies' have filtered through onto this board? Well to hell with it I think it might give some of you long-suffering peop a glimmer of hope. Here we go. Some of you may recall that I asked for advice ab...

Re: Is it a gap or not?

Hi, I have to apply for ILR on the basis of 10 yrs long residence basis, and I have recieved my SAR file and the application raised dates are showing one and 2 days gaps on three occassions, as i m pretty sure that i had posted my application in time. According to Sar file the things could be shown...

Incorrect Dates of Case Raised

Hi all, I finally got my SAR file back today, after waiting 49 days from the day money was taken from my account, and I have a few queries. 1) One of the applications I made was in time, on the last day of the previous leave, via Recorded Mail, and I have the post office receipts to prove it. Howeve...

Application deadlines

Hi all again. I'm sure this has been covered before but I can't seem to find any answer to it. I've completed my 10 years for ILR purposes this month and am thinking of applying somewhere early next year. However on quite a few occasions I have posted my application for extension on the final day of...

Further still. I'm getting slightly confused by the maximum permitted number of absence days after reading other posts. I originally thought the requirement for 10-year ILR is no more than 18 months away from the UK in total and no more than 6 continuous months away at any one time. Now some of the ...

Still, does anyone know what the caseworkers check on their computer at the PEO? I guess they probably check the police database to see if you were committed of anything. Do they check NI database or have access to it?

The reason I'm asking is that I do have a small problem with working over the limit for a few months due to staff shortage. I understand it was stupid and have now rectified the situation so my next P60 for 2009-2010 should show a reasonable salary (2008-09 being £12950) therefore I really do not w...

Hi, out of interest, does anyone know if P60 is required for application of ILR under 10-year rule as a student? I was advised on another forum that it is more than likely. Help appreciated

Hi My Chinese wife just turns up at the Polish consulate. Visa issued on the spot (=same day). She's EU family though. I don't know about this 'countries treated differently' thing. John Your wife's nationality - China - is one to start with. The French would normally issue visas on the day, for so...

Is that list of countries treated "differently" set by the individial Schengen countries (France for example) or are they discriminated against across all Schengen states? It appears that we may be able to get a Schengen visa from the Swiss consulate in 2 weeks rather than the 4 weeks the...

Dont think you need an appointment with the Finns. Last time i enquired over the phone, the lady said you just turn up and everyone will be seen. However they only issue single-entry visas so you need to go direct from Finland to your destination. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Give th...

Hi, that's great.

Bit of a pain now. One of the hotel owners just emailed me a word document as an attachment to an email. He told me to print it off myself as they do not have letterheaded paper in hand. Does anyone know if this is acceptable?

Thanks gani.

The hostel replied very nicely and said that they could fax it through. Just wondering if anyone know whether a faxed copy is acceptable.

Revised Requirements for Schengen Visa

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has more information regarding the revised requirements for accommodation reservation from 27th April 2009 by the French Embassy. Below is the text displayed on their website: As from the 27th of April, people travelling to France for tourism will have to provide a r...

Nice fact-free rant. Welll is not fact free, because all EU embassies charge a pound a minute rate. Fact. Not true. Most embassies have alternative methods, Belgium does for example, so do many others. I think you have to look at some of these "alternative methods" in perspective. For exa...

Schengen Multi-Entry

Hi, I have a rather strange question about multi-entry visa and wonder if anyone has any idea about it. I'm non-EU and have a trip to Spain booked for 7/7 this year. As this is my first time into Europe I underestimated the waiting times at the Spanish Embassy and now have to go via a different coun...
