Re: Letter from Ernesto Bianchi

I spoke to a lady at the EU office in Brussels yesterday and she said that the UK was currently amending their EEA Regulations 2006, she said that some recent guidance (June, 2009) was despatched to all member states i think she meant the last web link in the letter. Yes, the last link refers to th...

Re: Letter from Ernesto Bianchi

Once the recent amendment of the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006 which became applicable on 1 June 2009 has been fully analysed, the Commission will contact the UK authorities to obtain clarifications. As far as I can see this amendment mainly deals with changes in deportation...

EEA

It should be a maximum 15 working days then, as i stated earlier. In July, they said 100% of EEA family permit applications were processed within 15 working days, which means, for a friend of yours who applied on the 11 of August, processing should or would be near completion. Thanks for that info,...

He should definitely follow it up. Article 5 of the directive states that such visa (EEA family Permit) should be processed as part of an accelerated process. The British say they acknowledge this. However they don't always seem to be showing that in practice. If he doesn't hear anything by the end...

EEA permit

That would or should be a reasonable expectation. However i am unsure where the OP is applying from, and how efficient they are, but in Ireland, where i live, they have a 100% processing completion within 15 days for that category of Entry clearance. I have to be on the err of caution, and say it m...

clarification

EEA permit doesn't take that long to process. It is given the utmost priority in comparison to other Entry clearance category. You probably mean 3-6 weeks to process. If they take longer than that, the matter should be reported to solvit as it is illegal under EU law. OP, you need to submit the mar...

He would be turned back

You can apply in Ireland, and you will certainly be fine, as stated by the previous contributor. They can only refuse you on grounds of Public Policy, Public Health or Public Security, and i can say with all certainty that a prison term for a misdemeanor immigration offense doesn't fit that descrip...

So i rocked up to the Rathmines Garda station to get two sets of fingerprints for a police clearance from the FBI and the SAPS. So the An Guardia Siochana behind the desks asks "...do you have the forms?" I say no that they accept the forms that they normally use to fingerprint. He says t...

What goes around comes around

The Irish(Republic) did a lot of benefit fraud in the UK as in multiple claimants getting birth certificates from the Irish register and claiming on behalf of people who had never lived in the UK. So they need to quit moaning and get the system sorted.

That is usually people's next statement when they find their parent or friend's parent isn't elligible for settlement in my experience! I do not think any offence was meant. Re: bin the old passport

Bin the old passport and apply for a new passport at the Aussie embassy in Spain before you reach the UK or it would be a wasted journey. Not very sensible advice. A new passport itself may invite questions and any attempt at deception can result in refusal and a ten year ban. might not sound sensi...
