My daughter-in-law is still waiting for her visa and they are meant to come to the UK in 2 and a half weeks time! They paid an extra fee for the visa to be 'fast-tracked' and it's now nearly 3 months since their application - and she was told she couldn't apply any sooner. Apparently the British Emb...

I'm not sure about what documents/evidence they've given - only that they're sure they gave everything they were asked for. Given they've tried but can't seem to speak to anyone about it, I imagine they have to wait to see if they're asked for anything else. If the application is declined, do you kn...

Thank you. They applied for the visa and have submitted all the required evidence, including a letter from us to confirm who she is, that she will be staying with us free of charge - this in addition to passport copies, utility bill and bank statements from us to prove that we are truly UK nationals...

Sorry that this is so long!! Our British son is married to a lovely, professional, hard-working Brazilian girl and they have been living over there for nearly 2 years although they met in London where she was studying. They are planning want to visit the UK in a couple of months and applied for a vi...

Thanks - although I'm surprised that if my wife is Brazilian and our children are born in Brazil, they are automatically regarded as British. Is that really the case?

Yes, I'm completely British. Does that mean our children would have dual nationality?

Immigration for dependents born outside the UK

I'm married to a Brazilian and currently living in Brazil where I can stay indefinitely ( we had a civil wedding in the UK before we came) I work for a multinational company but got the job over here - ie wasn't moved by them. If we have children here and then at some point decide we'd like to move ...

PSW refusal

I'm here on IGS and have a visa until febuary. I applied to extend it under PSW but was refused because I didn't know I must have 800 pounds in an account for 3 months. I have a job and they can see my wages of more than 800 a month going into the account but I live with my English boyfriend and my ...

Thanks - I will carry on trying. Still not too sure about tier 1 or how I can apply. I think I have to show high salary and just now I can't get that until I can get a job. I know about my girlfriend but have a long time before we live together 2 years and I need to earn more money to help us! I fee...

Thank you for this information but I do not understand fully.
What would I need to show employers I can work under tier 1?
I have a degree from Argentina, 2year Masters from London and am 26 years old.
How do I apply and how long would I be allowed to stay in UK?
Thank you

Have permit - but problems getting work

I'm Argentinian and did a Masters degree in London. I have IGS permit to work for one year (I think this can soon be extended to 2 years because of a change in rules) I get quite a few interviews but so far no job offers because employers are telling me they want a 5 year visa. Does anyone have expe...
