No it wouldn't matter if the passport was expired. Do you have a long gap between passports being renewed?
6 months however my new passport has my old passport number in. surely would be ok as 6 months is still below the overall absences i can have if they deem it to be that?

Re: first day of qualifying period

hi, when HO calculate first day of qualifying period - is this 3/5 years from the date you submitted your application/paid or the day you submit ur biometrics? From date of submission/payment online. Biometrics date is not relevant for the requirement. would they normally ask for evidence for this ...

first day of qualifying period

hi,

when HO calculate first day of qualifying period - is this 3/5 years from the date you submitted your application/paid or the day you submit ur biometrics?

would they normally ask for evidence for this or would they just confirm from ur absences listed that the date doesnt fall within this

Re: citizenship queries - residency

If you are worried you can supply a P60/council tax bill that covers the gap. The only important thing is that you do not lie. Of course it won't be a problem that you haven't travelled. I do not have a P60 as I did not work during this time - also the council tax bill is not in my name. Will it be...

Re: citizenship queries - residency

thank u

so do you recommend to apply now instead of waiting 6 months so the whole 3 years is covered by a valid passport for the period?

should i write a cover letter explaining this or will it not matter?

sorry just wanting to make sure they won't reject based on this

Re: citizenship queries - residency

Re: citizenship queries - residency

Thank you so much, i really appreciate your help and quick responses. Will it matter that my old passport expired in April 2021 and the new one was issued 6 months after. This would mean i have no passport proof for 6 months - will this make a difference? I know 2 passports isn't an issue but the fa...

Re: citizenship queries - residency

As a UK ILR holder your passpor(s) with stamps covering the residency period are sufficient. P60, Council Tax bills, etc not required - those are used by EU citizens whose passports didn't get stamped. Thank you, so as my spouse is a British citizen and I have ILR and not a EU citizen, my passport ...
