Applying for Passport after recieving naturalisation cert

Hi folks

While applying for the passport do we need to send the original naturalisation certificate and birth cirtificate to the passport office?

I had recieved my cert two days ago and I am thinking of applying for the passport.

As I mentioned earlier I sent my documents in Nov 2008. I presume if we count from mid Nov- end March it took approx 4.5 months for the checks.

Folks I have recieved my approval letter today. Very relieved after a long wait. I called INIS about 3 weeks back and was told my application was ready to be submitted to the minister. Hi Strongbow You will not need to send the passport again at the time of renewal. I renewed my son's passport few months back. All you need to send it the original passport of your son and his birth certificate for renewal. Once the first passport is issued that itself is proof of the Irish citizens...

I think its all random. Who handles your application? How fast the officer is If it goes to Garda clearance which station or which Garda officer handles it? How efficient and fast is he? Etc etc etc Its a lottery. If you fall in efficient hands you will get it in 18 months elase you may not get in 3...

I've stopped believing this based on all different messages on this forum.

Some in Dec 2006 have been naturalised others in Dec 2005 are still waiting and the website says July 2006 is being processed.
