Class2 NI Pending -Will it effect naturalization application

Hi Guys I am aware that we need to mention our Tax ref number on Form AN and also sign a declaration that UKBA can contact HMRC for any further details. Also, on Page 3 of Form AN the applicant also needs to enter the NI number. My wife was self-employed for a very short time (1.5 months) 2 years ag...

Re: How to identify letter from UKBA by looking at the envel

Normally, it's a brown A4 envelope. Thanks!! Is this size (A4) used for both acknowledgement letter and approval letter? I remember getting my Tier-1 application acknowledgement letter on a A4 sheet, folded into half in a Brown A2 size envelope Also, are the envelopes easy to identify, just like th...

I know of some people who applied through NCS and received only approval letters directly from UKBA. BTW, which council would send the citizenship invitation letter - the local council or the one where the applicant submitted the application at NCS? In my case, I used a council nearby for NCS as it ...

How to identify letter from UKBA by looking at the envelope?

Hi Guys I recently applied for naturalization through my local NCS. However, I will be away from the UK for a few weeks and am worried that if UKBA/caseworker sends any letters I might miss them until I am back. I have requested my neighbour to look at my post each week while I am away and notify me...

Approval letter - from Council or UKBA?

Hi Guys, I am aware that if your naturalization application gets approved then UKBA sends approval letter by post. But, some folks here have reported that they directly received letters from their council requesting them to book a date for the ceremony and did not get any letter from UKBA. I was und...

Reapply immediately or after 12 months?

If someone's naturalization application gets rejected, then can the applicant re-apply immediately or is there a rule that one can reapply only after 12 months of rejection.

Hi I recently made an application for naturalisation and i had an old police caution in 2007. At my NCS appointment the lady advised me that this was not relevant to be declared on the form as it was more than 3 years ago. I insisted that i was worried , she there and there , whilst i was in the ro...

I think the OP needs to be more forthcoming. I'm sorry, I didn't get what you mean - my mistake. I do have a police caution from 2008 and was asked the 'any police cautions' question at my recent NCS appointment. I was rightly told that any cautions received less 3 years ago will lead in a refusal....

Just to add, this is now an important requirement and application will be refused if the applicant has had cautions in the three years prior to the application.

From AN was updated in December 2012. Was this requirement added to the Form?

That explains it.

Wonder why they don't ask about it in Form AN and why there is no mention of it in guide AN or Booklet AN.

Naturalization Application & Police Caution

If the applicant has a police caution, does it effect the Naturalization application?

I searched in Guidance AN and Booklet AN, but could not find anything related specifically to a police caution.

Re: Should I apply now or later

You are required to be in the UK 5 years prior to the date UKBA receives your application. As you are applying through NCS, you can request a date change and apply on the 17th to be on a safe side. However, in theory your application should reach UKBA latest by Saturday Yes, I am also thinking to m...

Should I apply now or later

I am going to submit my application at the NCS on 10th Jan 2013. While filling the form, I have noticed that I was out of the UK in January 2008 for 2 days. And the dates are quite close to when my application will be received at the home office (minus 5 years). I left the UK on 14th Jan 2008 Was in...

I think you will need to send the original passport for the Child born in India. They will not accept copies of the ILR page of the passport. On pg 6 of the online child benefit form, you will see this guidance note: "If any child in this claim was born outside the UK we also need to see their ...

Not sure if this helps but my wife used her maiden name until we applied for the BC. The request to the name change was done at NCS at the time of BC application. Have you faced any issues at the border control in the past for the same reason? No, so far we have not faced any issues at border contr...

If I have understood it right, the issue here is not of a person using maiden name or adopting spouse's family name, but that of changing the name to reflect a "surname" which currently is reflected in "given name" (e.g. - first / middle name). Yes, that is correct. Both FirstNa...
