Child benefit form - confusing question

I was granted ILR in Oct 2011. I am filling the child benefit form and came across these two questions: 18. Are you subject to immigration control now, or at any time in the last three months? [Y/N] My Answer - YES 19. If you have been subject to immigration control in the last three months tell us ...

Myself and my family have now received ILR. As advised above, we decided not to get my wife's surname corrected in the passport. If we go for the surname correction now, which the Indian embassy will do in 2-4 working days by issuing a new passport with the correct surname and cancelling the existin...

Name Change/Correction in passport before ILR

I will be applying for ILR in Oct 2011 (2 yrs WP + 3 yrs Tier-1). My spouse joined me in the UK after the first year on the WP dependent visa. My spouse's name in the Indian passport is written as Given Name: Joe Bloggs (just an example) Surname: <blank> Actually, the correct one should be Given Nam...

Is this rule applicable to only 'child born in the uk' OR will this rule also apply to child born outside the UK with a leave to remain as T1/WP dependant? Only children born in the UK. There are so many possibilities and combinations that they have to be very specific about that. Thanks for the cl...

No, you cannot . Why do you want to deduct it from your net earnings. You simply have to deduct it from gross earnings. So if your gross was £100 and your redundancy inincluded in there was £10 and your net pay was £60, then the gross you will be claiming is £90 (£100 - £10). To prove this yo...

Redundancy payments as proof of earnings?

Can one include the redundancy payments (Tax/NI free) in the proof of earnings (gross) for a Tier-1 extension application? The final payslip shows the redundancy payments (Tax/NI free) and last months salary(Tax-ed, NI-ed) in one single sheet and the amount credited in the bank account is the total ...

In your case, dependant(s) of a Tier 1 (General) migrant will still remain dependant(s) of an (existing) Tier 1 (General) migrant even if the migrant (only) applies for extension. So there shouldn't be an issue. If in doubt, double-check with UKBA. regards Thanks. Sure, I will send an email to them.

Should be okay. regards Thanks. Actually, I had the understanding that the dependants visa is always linked to the primary applicant's visa in some manner - like if the primary applicant leaves the UK, then the dependants have to leave. So, when I extend only my Tier-1 (primary applicant's) then my...

It is surprising. Did you provide an employer letter saying your 122 days is "paid leave"? If it is "paid leave" or "business trips", they should not be "absence" at all, no matter how long a stretch they are! Does the the 90 day rule for the last year exempt...

T-1G early extension for self, not for dependants, possible?

I plan to go for an early extension of my Tier-1 visa which runs out in Oct 2011. I am planning to go for an early extension in Jan 2011, which will give me additional two years either from Jan 2011 or from Oct 2011 (I'm feeling lucky case) However, I will complete my five years of continous stay in...

A lesson I have learnt the hard way....Always go to HCI London in person to get the passport reissued/renewed and do keep hold of the dot-matrix printed receipt they give you. You might end up spending money in travelling but it it worth and avoids any hassle later on. Also, if you are able to spend...

Private medical insurance in UK does not replace the NHS - so there won't be any way around NI. It can be made to replace the NHS, atleast for some specific immigration categories. A good suggestion to Ms May would be to allow the immigrants who will have no route to settle in the UK NOT to pay any National Insurance contributions as they will anyway not have access to any of these funds if they lose the job or reach the end of their 'stint' in the UK. And yes, the government ...
