WP - Tier 1 - ILR timeline question

Hello, I entered the UK on a WP on September 12, 2006, my WP was valid for 5 years until September 12, 2011. I have now switched to a Tier 1 General Visa, issued on August 19th, 2008, valid until August 19th 2011. The timing on this puts me a little under a month short of the required 5 years in ord...

Yay!

I received my Tier 1 today - dated from the 19th of August. I applied on the 25th of July and sent an Urgent treatment in which got accepted, so overall processing time was less than 4 weeks for me!

Just a quick update for everyone. Got through to the HO and they confirmed I am perfectly fine to stay in the UK while my application was pending. I sent off an urgent treatment form, and it was accepted!

Hopefully my visa will come through soon and I can start work!

Got through to the HO. They have accepted my request for urgent treatment. Reason - I had lost my previous job and had been made an offer for a new job that I couldnt take until my visa came though.

Thanks for your input. I think wht you are saying might be right but the thing here is wht if someone pays by chq, then there will be a weeks difference between the date on which payment is recieved by HO and the date on which the application was recieved. I think they consider the date on which th...

WP -> Tier 1, when can I actually start work?

Hi,

I've been reading these forums and people talk about getting approval and then later on getting their passport back stamped.

When can I actually start work if my application is approved. Is it when I get an approval letter or do I need to wait for my passport?

Thanks in advance,
Boogie

Ho is not accepting any urgent reatment requests unless its really an urgent treatment. If accepted it is likely to process in 10days time as per the response from the forum members. Hope this helps Thanks for the answer nevadawipes. I know I asked a similar question in my other thread, but here I ...

Urgent Treatment - Does it Matter?

Hi, I was just wondering what affect an Urgent Treatment request makes? Does it reduce processing time by any significant amount? I am tempted to ask for urgent treatment for my tier 1 application as I have recently lost my job (which my WP was based on). However I am worried that if I ask for urgen...

there is always a chance for anything but hope for the best and call them at once very best of luck to you OK i took your advice and called the home office. They said that as my Tier 1 application was pending, even though I have lost my job, I can stay in the UK legally as long as my application is...

Re: complicated, indeed

Hi and sorry about your situation. It is complicated, indeed. I believe you are correct about the 28 days rule. You may be best off by calling the Home Office and asking them for advise, without giving your name and other data out. . Sorry for the quick second post. What's the best number to call t...

Hi, I just found this post and I am in a very similar position. Did you fax an urgent treatment form through? Am I safe as I was on a WP, but lost my job and now I have submitting a Tier 1 application. I think my situation is a little different as I think my Tier 1 application was submitted _after_ ...

WP -> Tier 1 (General) Complicated Transition

Hello all, First post, hoping you smart people can help me out. I am currently in the UK on a WP. Last week I applied for a Tier 1 visa via an agency. On Wednesday I got the sack from my current job. Today I found out that even though I gave all my documents to the agency last week, they only submit...
