Re: 10 years long residence applications

Acknowledgement letter means payment has been gone through and application is valid. The next step is to have a biometric information and which requires biometric letter. The bizarre thing is you friend didn't get reminder of biometric letter. Usually if you fail to have your biometric within a giv...

Re: 10 years long residence applications

Many thanks for these replies folks, I will immediately get the message across. Until now I had no support but at least it is obvious now that I am not the only one who thinks this is very unusual!! I think the phone number was posted on this thread somewhere, I suppose that will be the best one to ...

Re: 10 years long residence applications

Thanks for that input. The problem is that I advised him to apply independently because the case is completely straightforward. Ten years' legal stay, with no overstay or extended absence and a UK degree as well. However, he still decided to go with a lawyer and this same lawyer is now saying there ...

Re: 10 years long residence applications

Hi All, I have a simple question: A friend sent off the SET (LR) application in mid-September 2014. An acknowledgement letter was received a week later. To this date, no invitation for biometric registration has been received (now 3 months later). Is it worth calling the HO to check what happened? I...

Re: Successful PEO/PSC ILR applications

Well I promised that I would post the result of my wife's appointment, so here it is. Although no one answered my question in the other thread, despite repeated appeals  My wife's ILR SET (M) appointment at Croydon PEO was successful. Here are the basics of a straightforward case: - We were un...

Re: Child birth certificate as "Cohabitation Proof"

Hi, My wife just applied and got ILR successfully at Croydon PEO and we used birth certificate as one of our cohab documents. No questions were raised about it, it seems. Me and my wife have different surnames and our child has a different (3rd) surname! But I think all that matters is that you (the...

Re: Applying through SET (M) - Absence from UK

Guys,

My question is probably not the most difficult, certainly not more than some I've seen here. I would really appreciate some insight. Appointment is in a few days and I'll post the result here in the relevant sticky.

Re: Applying through SET (M) - Absence from UK

Any thoughts on this one folks?

I am wondering if our case is still straightforward enough and if there is anything I should include in her application to help.

Thanks.

Applying through SET (M) - Absence from UK

Long time reader, first time poster here. I’m taking my wife to PEO Croydon for a SET (M) ILR appointment in a few days. Everything is in order but there’s one doubt troubling me. During the 2-year probation period, we were out in the UAE for 128 days in one stint due to my job. Now, I know that the...

Converting from IGS dependant to student visa

Hi all, I had a quick question: My husband came here with myself and our two kids (now 14, 17) 4 years ago on a student visa. He has since switched to an IGS visa which expires next month. So can I switch from IGS dependant to a student visa without having to travel back to my home country? Thanks i...
