What a coincidence... Following all the letters written to HO and MEP on Thursday night, I received a Special Delivery note on Fri. On Sat, I found out that I have finally received the Permanent Residence! It took a while... Good luck to everyone! I'll post reply from Signpost Service if relevant to...

Re: Write to your MEP

Why not write to your MEP ?... there a whole bunch of newly elected, who should be interested to address breach of EU directives. Avoid the 2 from the BNP !! Cheers. Re: EEA4 Permanent Residence - Waiting time

Hi, I submitted my PR application form 6 months ago. I phoned HO a week ago and today. I got two different answers: The first one said that applications will take 6-8 months to complete. The second one said it could take up to 11 months. Since they have to make a decision within 6 months, can this ...

We submitted it in October 08. However, I did send a letter, as a family member was very ill. So, not sure which one of my actions helped speeded up the process.

Is anyone aware that children cannot get PR unless they are 5 years of age? Can't find reference to this law anywhere...

Eric-Poole - thanks for the petition link. The numbers are increasing.

HO should really revert their decision to allow PR application after 4 years, rather than 5. They would make their life much easier.

Hi, Just got through to HO today. They sent a letter to my solicitor asking for more documents, that is, my valid passport. So it looks like it may happen soon. They also advised that my daughter cannot qualify for PR, not until she is 5 year old. Never heard of this law requirement. Any ideas? Nada...

I just received a letter from HO (following a complaint letter), and they said they're on the case.

Will keep you posted.

EU Directive 38/2004, Article 5 in place

Hi, I just found out that Denmark will allow entry without a visa to non-EU citizens who have Residence Card stamp in their passport. (Article 5 from EU Directive 38/2004) The information is listed on their website (bottom of the page): http://www.amblondon.um.dk/en/menu/ConsularServices/Visas/Requi...

Union citizens who have resided legally for a continuous period of five years in t...

Hi, Quick update: We have contacted the EU Signpost Service. They suggest we complain to SOLVIT. See extract below: Reply Directive 2004/38 provides for permanent residence of EU nationals in Member States other than their own. The Directive does not provide that the national must show evidence of p...

I guess it might be wise to focus on the complaint first and make sure that your wife get confirmation of her permanent residency before you submit your application.
Agreed, but my visa is expiring soon and will need to get this going.

I have just posted an equiry to EU Signpost Service.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen similar comments in another post. It seems completely logical. (if A=B and B=C, than certanly B=C). HO does not see it this way, unfortunately. Yes, she was working from Sep 03 - Sep 04. She actually came to work here as au-pair in Aug 2002 (until Jul 03). She worked ...

UK Permanent Residence | EEA (DK) wife

Hi, Just joined. Well done for creating this very useful forum! I am concerned as my 5yr visa is expiring in Nov 08. History: I came to the UK nearly 10yrs ago. Came as a student, then applied for asylum due to troubles in ex YU, then got married in 2003 and received the 5yr visa. I studied UG, comp...
