Re: EEA4 form confusion

Hi, Sorry, I'm still confused. What section of the form do these paragraphs relate to as they don't appear to have anything to do with Section 8? Have they been added on at the end as an afterthought? And are they referring to additional family members included in the application (Section 2) so that...

EEA4 form confusion

Hi, I'm currently trying to fill in Form EEA4 for a permanent residence card for my wife. As I am a British citizen, we have come thus far via the Surinder Singh route and it is great to see on the latest version of the form, released last month, that we don't have to complete huge chunks of the for...

Re: EEA4 Surinder Singh - the form changed?

Hi, Having reread Section 11, the list of required documentation, I think the latter page and a bit apply to everyone, and though it doesn't stipulate it, relate to Section 8. The first paragraph is straight forward enough. They want proof of being in the UK for five years. It also appears they want...

Re: EEA4 Surinder Singh - the form changed?

Hi megmog, I'm in the same process of sending in the form and it looks too good to be true. I totally agree that once you've ticked "yes" in Section 6 that you jump to Section 8 and avoid all financial information. BUT, checking through Section 11 on what evidence to submit with the form, ...

Actually we're both now working, me part-time, part-time self-employed though that hasn't brought in any money yet. My wife is self-employed and when we completed the form EEA2 we got my wife's card on the basis of her self-employment as well as being self-sufficient.

Don't understand. My wife is covered by the NHS as the permanently resident wife of a British Citizen.

Thanks Wanderer! Obtaining PR; is that five years from entering the UK or at the expiration of the Resident's Card? My wife has only just got it and we've been living here for 18 months. And we definitely have to apply for PR before we can apply for naturalisation? There is just one problem for me w...

But permanent residence and naturalisation are not the same thing are they? And, as a British Citizen, my wife should be entitled to naturalisation after she has lived in the UK more than three years. There is an added complication to applying for permanent residence for her in five years and that i...

Naturalisation of spouse under Surinder Singh Rules

After a 15 month wait, my US wife has eventually received her Residents Card. Although I'm a Brit we met and married in Austria where I was working and so decided to come back into the UK under the EEA rules . . . much cheaper. My question now concerns her getting naturalisation as wife of a British...

I think you misunderstand my question. I exercised Treaty Rights in Austria, working there, but in returning to the UK, the Surinder Singh ruling still states that the British Citizen is required to act as though exercising Treaty Rights i.e. by pursuing some sort of economic activity that means tha...

Surinder Singh & Eind

I am a British Citizen returned recently and permanently to the UK with an American wife after working in Austria for several years and where she was legally resident. So therefore, in applying for her Resident's Card she falls under the Surinder Singh ruling. My question is regarding me exercising ...
