If you went back home and applied there, it's 2-4 weeks, unbelievable!! Its automatic you will get permission, maybe they are not too bothered.

Thanks for that. Why would they be stricter on spouses of Irish nationals though. It makes more work for them, dealing with spouses every year! Work permits are annually now as well i think. So basically after the 1 year, 1 year and 3 years....Apply for 5 year residency while putting in a citizenshi...

Let's stick to the original post shall we. Irish citizens and non eu spouses. I am in the same boat as the OP. And i don't know why more irish men/women are not kicking up a fuss. I see alot of non eu women or men married to irish citizens. In Boards.ie i started a thread, and an obnoxious moderator...
