I have recently sent in my application and used a Cash ISA as evidence. I haven't heard back yet. However there is no reason why you couldn't use it. The funds are in cash and can be taken out at any time.

I applied a few days after you and got the same letter. I would ignore the request to not send any new evidence. The fact is if you don't send this you will not get the visa, however there is a chance that you will get the visa if you do send the statements. The guidance notes say you can send in mo...

I actually had a similar issue before I applied. I managed to renew my passport before I applied. I did call the HO about switching my old visa into the new passport before I applied. I wasn't sure if I had to. You do not have to do it. However if you did lose your old passport or want to move the v...

I am afraid that it is true. You do need to have £800 at all times in your account if you are applying from within the UK. That also means that you will most likely be rejected. They are very strict about this. If you have another account that has funds that when added to the original account you s...

I thought I had the same problem when I first looked at that question. You only have to answer D8 if you are missing the passport with the travel doc in it. If you have your passport then no need. Question D5 tells you to skip to D11.

It looks fine to me! I don't know about medical insurance but I if you pay taxes on it then it should count.

satish.pand- I agree with you. I get a car allowance as well and I have the same tax code. I looked into this on HR Customs and Revenue website and I don't quite get what apply4hsmp means. On my payslips my basic salary and car allowance (and occasionally a bonus) are added together, this is my gros...

In your case I would think so. If it says end date and the document is issued from the university then the HO can't really argue with that. Still send the degree certificate though. My degree actually does have a date, month and year. I only have one other possible end date mentioned, but it was con...

Exactly, my university never issued a transfer/conduct certificate... I never got anything with a definite end date on it. Hence my confusion!

start and end dates at university

I actually sent in my application on the 30th of December but I am a bit worried about the start and end dates of my masters. I found a letter from my university stating the start date in September 2005 for a year. So I know that the date I put to start is correct. I am not so sure about the end dat...

Quick question

This is probably a really silly question but I want to make sure... I am sending my app in tomorrow from within the UK and I am planning on using Royal Mail Special Delivery, do I send it to the standard address or the courier address? I know it needs to be signed for, so sending it to a PO Box seem...

I actually have a related question... I was paid on the 22nd of December and this is to cover the entire month of December, however our office is closed on the 24th until the 5th of January. Should I still not claim December? I've a letter from my employer confirming the payment dated on the 24th an...

Maintenance Letter ok?

I got a maintenance letter from my bank today via post, as my bank will not write them in the branch. It is on official bank letterhead, with the bank logo and name, and it is dated. The guy who wrote the letter also folded it into the envelope quite quickly so the ink has copied over onto blank par...

Maintenance Funds in UK

I am having a bit of trouble with HSBC regarding this. I am an American living in the UK and have maintained funds of over £800 accordingly. I understand that you must have proof of this dated within 7 days of your application outside of the UK. Is it the same within the UK or is it a month? I spok...

Sorry I took so long to get back. The immigration advisor I saw told me that an ISA was definitely ok to use. Dev- I actually looked into this at my bank. ISA stands for Individual Savings Account. My ISA is with HSBC and when I looked into the account offer it said very clearly that it was an instant access account. This is what the Home Office is after, savings you can access at any time. I am going to se...

discrepancies between bank accounts

I am looking to apply for my tier one visa from a fresh talent visa in early december. I currently have 2 bank accounts in the UK, one is a CASH ISA for savings and the second is my current account. I have just over £1100 in my CASH ISA and have had that amount in place since late August, meaning i...

I am also looking at using my Cash ISA for my application in a few months. If anyone had any examples it would be very useful. My understanding of an ISA is that it isn't a fund or a bond. Rather it is a savings account that you are not charged tax on, so it encourages people to save. How much you p...
