Hello guys, I rang INIS today to enquire about this endorsement. They told me to only submit all my original passports (current passport and expired passports), a copy of my GNIB card (not the original) and a cover letter by registered post. They also told me the turnaround time for this is 10 worki...

I've done the oath and sent the letter mid January and I've got the cert today. A laminated A4 page with my photo and only in Irish. It took 3 years and 6 months to get the cert since the day I've applied in August 2005. Regards, Mendo Remember you can request INIS to provide you with a copy of the...

Pardon my cynicism, but I think it is more likely the following option from your earlier post - INIS is not telling us the trouth when saying they are waiting for Garda Clearing. I think they delay the applications as long as possible and here is another part of the process where they can simply bl...

Garda check waiting times for naturalisation applications

Guess what? On Tuesday there was a Parliamentary Question on Garda clearance waiting times: 263. Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if applications for naturalisation are being unnecessarily delayed due to backlogs at the Garda Síochána; the average l...

LP, agniukas, many thanks. I've only applied mid-2008 for citizenship, so from reading what you've already posted guys, I'd say there's a long way ahead for me now. Newer applications seem to be going much faster than older ones. Also, I think in the current situation the amount of applications mig...

A question for the experts: is it true that once you apply for citizenship (5-year basis) you are entitled to stay in Ireland, even if you lose your job and workpermit, until you get an answer regarding your application? Thanks, GO I don't think so. I think it is your responsibility to keep your im...

After applying in June 2006 I finally received my Certificate of Naturalisation yesterday. It is an A4 laminated certificate fairly presentable but two points stick out: 1) The INIS are too budget conscious to use decent envelopes so the postman folded it in half. 2) The certificate is completely i...

I think this rule only applies if you want to apply for Long Term Residence, which is something completely different from "Without Condition as to Time Endorsement". Basically, if you apply for Long Term Residence (LTR) and Naturalisation at the same time, they put on hold your LTR applic...
