I seriously think that they should have a status update function on their website. One should be able to enter his/her reference number and the status should be displayed like: Waiting for Minister, Garda Approval required, SW report requested, Additional Doc Requested. A friend of mine who had applied in Sep 2010, received his approval today. He's just delighted. He still can't believe this......

No additional documents were requested of him. He never bothered checking status of his application and never been on this forum.
