Only spouses of irish nationals need 3 years reckonable residence. All others need 5 years of reckonable residence, even if they are parents of Irish citizen children. If she already has 3 years, she needs another 2 years before applying.

i am not sure, but i think you still need 5 years in total. 3 years isn't enough in your case. as you are british, it does not matter what you are doing in ireland, as long as you can provide evidence of your residence in ireland.

You have to apply at one of the EU countries, belonging to schengen, embassies. It has to be the country which you, as a holder of a schengen visa, will visit first.
Lets say you are planning to go to France, then you apply for a schenden visa from a french embassy in Dublin, if residing in ireland.

spouses of irish nationals in ireland are not entitled to stamp 4EUFAM. it's only for the spouses of other EU nationals, coming to work in ireland.
i would advise to apply for a schengen visa for a multiple entry for at least 1 year and then travel with ease within europe.

Once your wife receives her visa to enter ireland, she will be given a a few months to ENTER the state. The visa is only for entering Ireland. At the airport her passport will be stamped for 3 months as a visitor (stamp 3). Once in ireland, you both have to go to GNIB (if you wish even the next day)...

You get a stamp in your passport (stamp 4 for 5 years or till the expiry of your passport), and you will get a GNIB card with STAMP 4EUFAM on till for the same duration as the stamp in the passport

the fact that you are currently unemployed may show lack of evidence that you will return to your country after the expiry of the visit visa and you may overstay your visa in Ireland. That can go against you in issuing you the visa.

no, she still has to pay the 950e. Before the change of the law a few years ago, she wouldnt have to pay, now she does.

Now only refugees dont have to pay and children pay 200e. EVERYONE else, no exception, pays 950e.
