'descent' means YOU are a child of an irish national. It does not work the other way around. in order for you to qualify for naturalisation you will need to reside 5 years in the country before becoming eligible to apply. ''parent or guardian applying on behalf of a minor child of Irish descent or I...

what is your own nationality? are you a visa required national? if you are not a visa required national, no visa is needed for you. all you have to do is to convince immigration officers at the airport to be let in. (mind you there were many articles recently of US nationals being returned back to U...

on what basis do you want to get your permission to remain? If it is on self sufficiency basis, you would get stamp 3 and would not be allowed to work. if you came as a visitor, you would be allowed to stay initially for only 3 months on stamp 3 as well. it would be up to you to convince your local ...

I also think that the family would not be entitled to any SW payments like medical card or FIS unless they were living in ireland for the last 2 years.

in your calculations , benifa, you mentioned FIS and medical card... that does not seem like self sufficient or not a burden on the state resources... or am I missing anything? And i guess that the reason for Op getting EUFAm stamp 4 would be due to the fact that his wife is working, studying, etc.....

will it help if I apply for a tourist visa ? just so i can easily attend the job interviews?
Just to let you know, you will have to leave the state at the expiery of your tourist visa and then apply from outside for a proper visa when your work permit / green card permit has been approved.

Luaspassenger, i don't think that you need your GNIB card. Just approval letter, yellow sheet and your ID (passport). no birth certs are needed. It will just take a few minutes. you can fill in the form before your court appointment, but make sure NOT to sign it until you are being watched by the ju...

that's a tricky one... the answer may be in the line Subsidised fees are available to EU Nationals only i.e. students who have EU nationality or who hold an EU passport : Having stamp 4 makes you a resident in the state, but you are still not a holder of an EU passport. You can work without a work p...

Hi, as far as I understand, the actual processing of the application is done in the final stages after waiting in the queue for some time. it is up to the section to decide whether they refuse your application at that stage or not if you applied too early. You should apply when you complete 60 month...

However, they were probably asking all those questions due to the fact that EU national was travelling with a non-EU dependant/relative. And all those questions were more relative to the non-EU national. I guess if EU national travelled alone, no such questions would be asked. Or if EU national trav...

i guess that all the applications go into the same queue, whether spouse of irish national, or on work permits, or irish associations. just kids go separately. and when your turn comes in, then the processing can be shorter, but you would still have to wait for your turn to come.

Legible - the ones that you can read off, good and clear copy
Endorsement stamps - stamps from your passport given to you by your local immigration officer. practically just the pages that have any stamps in your passport, no empty pages neccessary.
good luck.

i would guess that the non EU spouse (Susan as per example) would get stamp 3 as a dependant. because being a dependant of EU national and having stamp 4 EU FAM does not make that person EU national as well. therefore, he cannot transfer his rights/entitlements to his spouse. another example would b...

i'd say garda check would be the only one done. when that report is in and all other docs are in from the applicant himself, the file would be ready for decision. processing of applications should be much faster than those for citizenship. it's probably around 3 months from the time the file is open...

after the interdepartamental report is received, it would usually take a week or a few to receive decision letter, depending on how many files for decisions are with the supervisors at that time. if it is a refusal due to convictions, it can take longer.

Hi, I just got a confirmation that in order for your spouse to qualify as a spouse of an irish national, only the time since your naturalisation is counted. so in your case, it's only 6 months. she can only apply when she has 3 years since you are naturalised. at this stage she can only apply in her...

there are sometimes special sittings arranged by naturalisation section when 100-200 applicants are dealth in a day (oath in Dublin). maybe you will be offered one of those when they have a larger crowd waiting for appointments. But courts are usually closed during the summer, thus the backlog. ther...
