In Cork City, where I live and took my oath, you just turn up at 9.30 any Monday morning and they take you in. No need to make an appointment. The snag may be the address on your yellow form. Phone the District Court and ask you may be lucky. Failing that you could always try telling them that you m...

I was naturalised in January 2009.

Obviously she's a non EU national otherwise she wouldn't need a Stamp at all would she?

As your son is over 18 you will have to pay €150 each time the stamp is updated.

I emailed the Spouse of Irish National Unit on: INISsinu@justice.ie. Explained that my daughter, who is now 25, arrived in Ireland with me in 2002. She has been on a Student Stamp ever since. As I am now Irish could she also be given a Stamp 4 like my wife? They replied in a few days and asked for h...

Following my naturalisation I was able to immediately receive a Stamp 4 for my spouse. On application I was also granted a Stamp 4 for my daughter who had lived in Ireland for seven years but always as a Student.

This level of family unification is gratifing.

As I see it the problem is that Ireland is not part of the Schengen group.

In this case the embassies appear to be free to ask for anything they like and you have no option other than to comply.

The joke of all this is that the spouse of an Irish Citizen has more rights anywhere else in the EU than they have in Ireland.

Can anyone explain the logic behind this?

Just went through this procedure having been naturalised in January 2009 after arriving in 2001.

The non-EU spouse will indeed receive a Stanp 4. It is strangely only valid for one year.

You don't have to pay for it.

No she's still on Stamp 2 student visa. You have Irish connections and can apply for naturalisation. You need to make all this very clear in your application. They will then waive the need for five years reckonable residency or count the time spent as a student, same result. Please read my earlier m...

The difference between that scenario and ours is that that situation was based on a student applying for naturalisation solely on the basis of residency in Ireland. Unfortunately this will never be successful as the time spent as a student is not reckonable. My daughter's application is based on her...

Firstly you don't send any payment.

Secondly allocation of a 68 number indicates that residency requirements are met.

UK regulations and procedures are totally irrelevant and so is your experience in this regard.

The process will take two years.
