Sent yellow form and postal order on 18 July received acknowledgement on 12 August.
Hopefully this does not mean that six weeks starts from 12 August and not 18 July.

Hello I applied in January 2009 after living in Ireland on a Student Stamp for five years. My application followed my father's naturalisation in December 2008 giving me Irish Associations. I received my yellow form and took my oath in June 2011. No further information was requested at any stage. Goo...

They give you a one year stamp if you have no previous immigration record. That is if you have just arrived in Ireland and got married.

You know what started off as a string for tracking the timelines of applications has degenerated into a forum for congratulating each other, moaning and recriminations.

As such it is no longer of any real use to anyone.

Just go and tell the GNIB that you need your Card renewed and why. They did this many times for me and my family. Eventually they got tired of us asking and renewed them for five years. That saw us all through to naturalisation. You need to be nice, not demanding like some of the posts to this forum.

Everyone leaving Heathrow on a flight destined outside the EU is subject to a visa check for their destination and for the UK.

With a bit of luck they'll lock your friend up, deport them and we won't have the hassle of having them here again -ever.

Two friends arrived in Ireland from eastern europe (non EU) in 1999, and claimed asylum at the port. They had an Irish-born child in the mid 90s and have been on the temporary leave to remain scheme for parents of Irish born. How come they only claimed asylum in 1999 when they already had an Irish ...

I'm sorry but you should have been deported years ago.

You give legal immigrants a bad name.

This forum is for people to obtain advice to stay within the law not for people who broke the law for years.

IrishTom is going to have a field day with you and rightly so.

Hello

I'm afraid there is a six month mandatory quarantine for all pets entering Ireland other than from the UK.

It can only be served in Lissenhall, north of Dublin, and is very expensive.

All new Irish passports with chips have the three letter country code, including those issued to people born in Ireland.

We've been through this perceived discrimination before.

I am against mass immigration, of people into my country (UK). I am not against immigraiton of non eu individuals as long as that immigration is tightly restricted. And no I do not care what tax they pay. I want to live in a country where I and my people are the majority. I want to live in country ...

I was born in South Africa of South African parents. Two of my great grandparents emigrated there from Ireland the rest all came from western England. Would this make me Irish by these genetic tests?
Although I have an Irish passport I would be loath to claim to be Irish like some of you.

I have checked my form and find I only listed our last address in South Africa and our two addresses in Ireland. Sorry I thought I put them all in but I was wrong. Would have beeen a long list too.

If they have a wish to refuse you they will find an excuse.

Eight points may be overlooked for some but two points may be the end for others.

As the article said there is no transparency.
