I rang up this morning, had difficulties in getting the line and then had to hold for over 10 mins. I called INIS, they told me my application prepared for minister on ** day (1st week) of Dec-2008. then she told that she is not seeing in the system if application is sent to minister (although application is prepared). for me it took 5week for garda check

I have sent all my docs(p21/p60/b.cert/m.cert etc.) and got ack. then called 6weeks after and they told, last week your application sent to minister after garda verification

Thanks for the details. It is really confusing as I know some people who have applied in 2006 with similar criteria and they haven't heard back after sending additional docs in Sept/Oct 08. It would be interesting in Jan 09 to see who all gets an approval. Yes, I'm also in this exact situation. :( ...

I'll say garda check will take 4-6week (in my case it took 5weeks for garda check) and in total 3-6months including ministers approval... thats the trend I have seen so far.
