In effect, I am free to seek out employment in the Netherlands and do not require a work permit to work there, so long as my EU spouse moves with me when I move there to take up work? As long as your EU spouse moves to the Netherlands to exercise her treaty rights, and is either employed, self-empl...

European citizens' initiative

Interesting idea from the EU commission, citizens can propose EU legislation from 1st April 2012. Requires a committee with 7 citizens from 7 EU states then the proposals needs to be backed by at least one million EU citizens. That might be the hard bit. Anyway here is the info, I'm sure we can get ...

The Czech Republic has two months to react to the EC's criticism. If Brussels finds Prague's response insufficient, it may hand the issue over to the European Court of Justice, which may impose sanctions on the Czechs. This, however, happens only rarely on similar occasions. Till now, I don't know ...

Excellent information and is very helpful, but I am not sure that Ryanair and others are actually members of IATA. IATA is no bible either. It talks about max stay of 90 days, which implies a return ticket is required. That comes presumably from the three month's initial residence, which can be gre...

skele, the way UKBA play games with the law and bureaucracy would make anyone's head hurt. They officially break their own laws, meaning they do officially demand that your husband has a visa. So the Airline did follow the official rules, yet the official rules is not the official law. Summary, you ...

fysicus, this is not normal denied boarding, which occurs when a plane is overbooked. There are aggravating circumstances, with personal and public humiliation, and denial of fundamental EU citizen rights. For normal denied boarding, e.g. plane over booked, its covered by EU Directive 261/2004 http:...
