Can I ask the Austrian embassy to issue her a visa? Yes, you are entitled to apply. But, some Embassies prefer to do nothing if they can. So they may say.. The closest I found to some sort of rules about multi-entry visas and their validity is in the Schengen Visa code. has been granted a visa to travel to the Republic of Ireland by the Republic of
Ireland authorities for the purpose of a stay of a period of 90 days or fewer,
Only for Class-C short stay visit visas
seems to not include Class-D long stay visas and Irish re-entry visas.
