Please don't do this. There is a discussion on this thread, but in general, if you do this you're breaking several Indian laws.

Re: OCI- Minor- Thumb impression

From memory, this is what we did for Part B of the form (thumb impression was put on the printed sheet): http://i.imgur.com/reubrsZ.png and our application was processed without hassle. For the first page of the OCI form, we had done a scan earlier of the thumb impression and uploaded it as the &quo...

Re: Best Visa Option for Children to visit India

I enquired PP office and they do not offer same day service for child first PP. I am sceptical how the firm you mentioned could do it? So I have booked 1wk fast track service. They do an in-person application at the HMPO office. HMPO has an 1 day premium service . Re OCI timelines, there is a whole...

Re: Best Visa Option for Children to visit India

The best option would have been to use the JCAP service which some councils offer - gives the passport and citizenship certificate together. However since you have not had a chance to do that, get the British passport as soon as possible. My child was registered soon before a planned India trip. I u...

Is that a fact? Could you or anyone else confirm? I will be going to the Paddington office in person. Thanks I applied for a tourist visa for my child in person, it took about a week (5 working days) and they couriered the passport stamped with a visa to us. The e-Visa scheme wasn't running at the ...

Re: Travelling to India after getting British Passport

I don't believe it's possible because 1) Indian government policy is that all citizens who get other nationality should surrender their Indian passports. 2) If you apply for a visa the normal way they do check for a surrender certificate, especially if your were born in India. 3) I don't know if the...

I have an appointment to Surrender Indian passport at VFS office London next week. Where would be a good place to get the photos made? Most photo booth machines can make Indian specification photos (2" x 2" or 50x50mm). Alternatively find a photo processing shop - e.g. Boots, Snappy Snaps...

My tuppence worth. Surrender takes a working week and application of X-visa takes a week. You should be able to fly to India in two weeks and have much less hassle that way. I have travelled with an Indian passport soon after getting British citizenship, I can confirm it *is* allowed up to 90 days ...

Re: Supporting Documents for OCI card holder's foreign spous

Looks like the key thing for OCI on the basis of spouse being an OCI holder is that the spouse must not have held Pakistani or Bangladeshi citizenship, and that the marriage is a subsisting one of at least 2 years. The birth certificate helps prove (the lack of) Pakistani or Bangladesh citizenship. ...

Why show the ground staff all of the above? Earlier, one could just travel out of the UK and back again with the Indian passport + BRP immediately after getting British citizenship for up to 90 days. (Interestingly, UK Border Staff can tell by scanning your BRP post-naturalisation that this is not ...
