thaks for constructive replies and remarks..

I am just saying anyone could have their passport/wallet stolen while on holiday..

If you are British: the Embassy/High Commission WILL do something about it

if you are resident in UK: depends on how cooperative is airline and how cooperative is the UKBA

Friend living in UK with ILR stolen passport +wallet while on holiday in Mexico. British embassy/consulate say: "can only help UK citizens" Embassy of his home country (morocco) say they could issue emergency passport (but would take time + week-ends) airline won't let him board his return...
