Name error on the first UK Passport

I made JCAP application in March, received approval in May and attended citizenship ceremony a week ago. This afternoon I received my first UK passport. They wrote my surname correctly but under the 'Given names' section they included my surname with my given names. The naturalisation certificate co...

Re: Citizenship Invitation Letter and Council booking

The council. This particular issue doesn't sound like something that the Home Office would be able to sort out. Sounds like a bit of an admin error with your council. See if you can take your approval + invitation letters to see them in person? Hopefully it's just an unfortunate glitch involving er...

Thanks for your reply. You said to call them (them means council or the Home Office)?

Letter from doctor? Sent it. Bills? Send them. Call HMRC. Get a council tax statement. Then send everything. There...

Dear Vinny,
Thanks for your reply.

No, the embassy will not issue a letter unless the Home Office asks for it.

Applied for citizenship with expired passport

I submitted joint citizenship and passport application yesterday using NCS. I came to UK in August 2002 and received ILR on the basis of 10 years long residency in May 2013. I have not travelled outside UK since July 2007. 1. My current passport expired in June 2016 and at my appointment I was asked...

Query regarding naturalisation application

1. I am currently unemployed. However, I worked for an educational institute from March 2006 to May 2015 which I have listed under question 1.50 in the application form . My query is: Do I need to write the Tax office reference number for this previous employment under question 1.49 or anywhere else...

Re: Query regarding naturalisation application

Ah, be careful here. Note If you are not (yet) a BC then your wife is not the 'spouse of a BC'. As she has ILR it means she applies under 6(1) of BNA. See section B of the guide: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/432525/AN_Booklet_Jun_2015.pdf - ref: page 4 Y...

Query regarding naturalisation application

My wife received ILR in June 2015 on SET(M) application. She was on Tier 2 PBS dependent visa from November 2009 to July 2013. She then switched to FLR(M) visa in July 2013 after I was granted ILR on the basis of long residency in May 2013. I understand that she is now eligible for naturalisation ap...

If you have successfully completed a current test, then I think that they may have a difficult time of proving that you did anything wrong in your previous test. I don't understand why they are wasting time and tax payers' money on pursuing this. Dear vinny, thank you for your reply. Please note th...

That doesn't make sense. His student leave would have been superseded by his spouse leave. After his spouse leave was granted, he didn't have any student leave to revoke. But they are denying that they had granted him the spouse leave? Dear Vinny, Can you please kindly reply to my original post. My...

Re: Urgent SET (M) advise needed - Senior Members Please rep

Thanks for your kind reply WR1. We will not submit TOEIC but since she used that previously for FLR(M) visa, would UKVI not be concerned to check the genuinity of that certificate which may lead to verification check of the previously submitted TOEIC certificates. This is why we contacted TOEIC to c...

Urgent SET (M) advise needed - Senior Members Please reply

1. My wife switched to FLR(M) visa under old rules in July 2013 after I received ILR on the basis of 10 years long residency in May 2013. She sat for TOEIC test in June 2014 at University of Westminster and passed listening & reading and speaking test with C1 level scores (although she required ...

Re: Victims of ETS Scam

I want to share some useful information on TOEIC issue. I work for a private college which is suspended because UKVI claimed that few of our students (who were recruited in 2012 and 2013) have obtained the toeic certificate fraudulently at different test centres. UKVI has given us a list of these st...

Child's first passport application error

I have sent my child's first passport application today via post office check and send service. Because I am on ILR status with a foreign passport, the lady at the post office told me to write my passport and BRP numbers on the section 8 (other information) of the application form. I wrote the passp...

Re: Advice required for passport application form section 4

Thank you once again for your kind reply. I know that I'll have to include my BRP showing ILR with the application. My concern is, Do I need to mention ILR status at any place on the passport application as I can't find any section or place on the application form to mention this.

Re: Advice required for passport application form section 4

Thank you Amber for your reply. I have read the FAQ section for passport but it doesn't say anywhere regarding my query on section 4 of the application form. My question is, where should I mention my ILR status on the application form which will allow the child to apply directly for the passport. Th...
