It took 4 working days for me to receive the surrender certificate . Its seamless to apply through VFS.

Not sure about visa.

Karthik, and all, Can you please clarify whether it is Gross dividend or Net Dividend that counts for Tier1 extension? Karthik, you wrote Net dividend... and "net" as per my understanding means "after tax deduction".. but you've written in brackets "without tax credit"...

I assume that 27 April 2009 is the date on the visa from when its valid. When did you actually apply the visa- was it before 31 March 2009?
