Hi Dublinlad,
I live in country. Immigration officer was generous enough. She changed the stamp just based on Nat cert. That is confirmation that your are citizen isnt it?
All depends on immigration officer.

Yes , they do check GNIB card when u return. Even some airlines check in Asia before boarding. Get a report and replacement card.

Since they say file is gone to minister. It is at most advanced stage, it can be. If they wanted to wait for GNIB card, they wouldnt send it. Hopefully you will hear good new soon. Best of Luck.

Hi Krb, If you have the yellow form, you are way closer to your final step. Book an appointment with local court for oath. Only sign it in court when asked for. GNIB card is just to show your immigration status. I know when i had one also, i was confused why it can't be used as identity card. But its been like this day one, Green book / GNIB card started.

I and my spouse were in this situation several times (Before me getting naturalised). We were both able to carry on doing our jobs while work permit renewal was happening. GNIB kept of giving 3 month temporary stamps. Once it took almost 5 months for renewal. I dont know about ur employment contract...

If you have temporary stamp and document showing that you have applied for work permit. You are ok to work. Work permit section has been slow for renewals from day one. not your fault.
