Nope, my profession does not fall in NOC 1122. So Canada is out for me unless rules change again in 6-12 months. You can wait for that to happen. Given the current economic situation, I doubt changes in the near future would relax the rules. Likely make them tighter. However, it really depend...

Changes and tight immigration rules now impacted First changes to MODL in AU , UK BA from 19th July and now Canada. ( removal of IT) So does this mean that no IT professional can come to Canada under FSW? Under FSW yes, but you can still apply if you get a job offer. Also look at NOC 1122 to see if...

Is this cap per visa processing centre or overall visa granted for entry into Canada by the canadian high commisions worldwide. The cap is global, not to a particular visa office. Globally they will only approve 20,000 applications per year. Does it mean that once the 1000 per NOC cap has been met ...

So finally, in my situation, shall I give the company name where I'm on unpaid leave or my ltd company name where I have not yet set up the PAYE. Personally, I think you need to do both. Because you still have a job (on unpaid leave) so you need to do that. You are also a director of a company, so ...

It would depend on which country you are applying from, as some countries have country specific requirements. Start at www.cic.gc.ca. All document requirements are listed.

If I may jump in (but take my post with a grain of salt, as I am not sure). If you are still employed then you should enter the name of your employer. If you are not getting paid, just write a note in the application that you are on unpaid leave from the company. I don't think that is going to be an...

In London, due to high volume, its closer to 12 months, sometimes slightly longer, especially if they are still doing security check. Usually they sen...

I must say the tone of your posts are seldom right. Usually very condescending towards others. You are helpful, for which I am sure most people are grateful. Would be nice to help with a smile.

The OP states that he is in a civil partnership with a UK citizen No he doesn't say that at all. He says he is "unmarried partner of UK/Swedish citizen". If he is in Civil Partnership I am sure he will tell us that, but he has not told us that thus far. Thanks John. I wasn't sure if being...

Technically I should be able to apply immediately, right? Wrong It appears that you are not married to a british citizen, hence you have to wait 12 months from the date you got ILR, so you will qualify in May 2011. Are you sure? The OP states that he is in a civil partnership with a UK citizen. he ...

It may be different, but it doesn't hurt to know what others have done in similar situations. The forum is about learning from each others and knowing how different people handled the situation in different ways is always helpful.
