truly agree with you. currently it is 5 yrs for ILR + 1 year in ILR = 6 yrs for naturalisation. But remember - when you apply, you check the 5 years before your application reaches HO, you were in the UK... ex: if you are applying today - 16-03-2009 via an NCS, your application will be opened by HO...

Re: Will I be short by 10 days for ILR?

Hi all, As the Entry Clearance started on the 1st of June 2007, and I entered the UK 10 days later on the 10th of June 2007, there is a 10 day difference. I intend to settle in the UK and under the current rules, to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain I need a continuous period of 5 years in the U...

Say you are at Gatwick or Stansted and you are waiting for your Ryan Air flight to Italy or France. Say you arrive like 2,5 or 3 hours early and you go through ticketing and security but you go inside and you want to go smoke or go back out of the airport for whatever reason. Will they let you? mzungu, somebody else on the forum reported a few months back that their application could not be processed at the PEO (don't think it was a spouse ILR) because of the open file and had to do a postal application as well. It seems like an "open file" makes it technically impossible to pro...

Having read all the 74 ish pages on this thread, there is a clear corelation between applications in winter and success / speed of approval. Winter applications seem to be dealt with very quickly ~2 months on average BUT some summer ones wait until the next summer to be akwnoledged!

You need to consider as well if:
-you visited UK intermittently within those 466 days
-you were still under employment while out of UK by a UK employer
-you had a valied continuos leave to remain in UK during those days

If the answers are NO. Then aply for TIER 1 and wait till 2011 for ILR
