Hi Jambo,

Thanks - clear now. No, the child will be coming together with the mother - does it make a difference in terms of the application/supporting docs?

Out-of-country application under Chen rules

Can anyone advise which options to choose in the online application system when applying for entry clearance to the UK under Chen rules? The system has Visit, Work, Study, Settle or Other. Would this be 'Other'? Please help, I am a bit confused: there is guidance on forms etc once a person is alread...

Err.. why do you think she cannot work/set up a business on a post-study work visa? Because she can (even if for settlement purposes the sooner she moves to FLR(M), the better).

To OP: Hi, I was granted FLR as an unmarried partner while being in a similar position. We only had a joint tenancy agreement, one council tax bill and an electricity bill (recurrent). All other documents were addressed to us separately but we had plenty spread throughout the 2-year period. I don't ...

I know exactly how you are feeling. But just prepare as best as you can, try to cover all bases and you will see that you won't need three quarters of your paperwork. :)

I can strongly recommend applying in person if you have half the chance - it will save you precious time and nerves.

I had very little correspondence in my partner's name for the first year - only an electricity bill. The caseworker asked if we had anything else, we said we did not and this was it. We had quite a lot for the second year though. Perhaps you have other correspondence in his name that you can take - ...

Please look here under 'Arriving at the public enquiry office' - http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/contact/applyinginperson/happenontheday/ In the end I made copies of the documents I knew they would definitely want, such as pay slips and bank statements. The copies were gratefully accepted but the ...

Photocopies for Croydon PEO

Does anyone know how necessary it is to bring photocopies of all documents to an appointment at Croydon PEO? The UKBA website requires this but people here and at other forums say the caseworkers make copies themselves. I will be taking a lot of docs but is there any point in providing copies of all...

Police registration and FLR(M)

Hi, I have another query regarding my application for further stay as an unmarried partner. My partner and I have been renting a flat where we currently live, since 22 September 2008 - I have a tenancy agreement to prove this and one other item of correspondence However, I also have to register any ...

Thanks Casa, you eased my mind on this. My partner and I also inclined to just show the salaries. We have a joint tenancy agreement for the same flat for over two years, joint electricity bills, an odd council tax bill + loads of bills and documents in either my name or his, with the same address. W...

I registered almost exactly a year ago, have UTC, paid NI, the lot. My first tax return is not due until 31 Jan'11 and in any case, will only show earnings up to the end of last financial year.

Need advice on funds requirement - FLR(M)

Hello, I am going to apply for an unmarried partner visa later this month in Croydon PEO. I am slightly confused as to what is the best way to show my earnings to satisfy maintenance requirement. I work part-time three days a week and my salary is paid into my UK bank account and easily checked agai...

@dahokolomoki HSBC don't stamp statements which they print out for you in the branch. Mine were not stamped and HO did not seem to mind. The guidance on HO's own website says as much: Accounts held with other banks If you have a bank account that does not operate exclusively online but you receive y...

To all those who are having a hard time with HSBC I want to say - don't worry! The ad hoc statements printed out in the branch (don't use the machine, ask a staff member to do it for you) are perfectly fine. I received my PSW on the basis of these statements, one of which was not even a regular stat...

Need Advice - Used An Old Application Form To Apply For Psw

I managed to use an old application form to apply for PSW - downloaded and printed it out just a few days before the new one was introduced in the end of November - but I did not notice that. It just did not occur to me that the application form may change! I sent it out with all my papers last Thur...
