Hi Wanderer, I got this job before my student visa expired....... Makes no difference, your status then is not your status now. Says who? Have you even read the UK Immigration act before? If an applicant's leave expires while an application for leave to remain is made, the applicant's previous leav...

Koolbone when did u send ur passport after the appeal and during that time if ur employer needs any documents to confirm that you are allowed to work while waiting for the HO to send the passport back, which doc do you show them? Thanks in advance I'm still waiting for the call-up letter from the H...

Re: Urgent help

Hi, Currently, I am under IGS scheme. My visa expires on 29th May. I don't notice that I must have 800 in my account AT ALL TIMES to extend my visa. So I just put more than 800 in my account on 8th March. Until I send my application (I plan sending on 27th May), I've got about 12 days short of mone...

Thanks a lot Koolbone, i hope this confirms it. 1. Does anybody know what actually happens at the PSW hearing? 2. If the decision comes against me can i appeal again? 3. If the decision comes against me how long do i have to leave UK? 4. Will i be informed on the same (hearing date) day about the d...

why do you want to apply with just two and a half months statements? I feel it's best for you to wait an extra month for the final statement so you won't be refused. Just keep on maintaining at least £2800 in your account at all tiimes and you'll be fine.

I think the OP has to accept he made the mistake, not the uni advisor, he signed the app form not the uni advisor. As such the refusal is a correct one, making an appeal would be fruitless. My apologies but you always seem to spout this rubbish about correct refusals and fruitless appeals. You must...

Re: PSW Refusal

1) If you had at least £800 in your account for the 3 month period, you stand a pretty good chance of winning your appeal. 2) Time frame for in-country appeals: You get the notice of the pending appeal shortly after submitting the appeal documents. You will get a letter from the HO which will tell ...

You can only show bank statements that have your name on it. You can combine several accounts, provided they are yours and the total amount from these accounts is at least £800 at ALL times within the 3 month period. If your accounts don't have this combined account, you could take a risk and make ...

My course has finished already and i believe once your course is finished you can work full time? can you???? can you please advise ...

This actually seems to me as the most ridiculous refusal to date. In hindsight, you probably shouldn't have submitted the fees account statement. There really are some incompetent HO staff. Not to worry mate, just appeal, the refusal will most definitely be overturned. It normally takes around 4 wee...

No, you will NOT be within the rules if you allow your balance to fall below £800. Please do not make the mistake of letting your balance fall even by 1p at any time within the 3 months statement otherwise your application WILL be refused.

The problem with the Uni letter is that is that is does not guarantee the award - it will state something along the lines the award will be granted subject to Senate approval etc etc. Without an unequivocal statement that you will receive an award the Uni letter is not much good. The Uni's know thi...

Yes mate, you can carry on working. Provided you made the PSW application before your IGS leave expired, your leave is treated as 'continuing' while your application is being considered. For proof, this is an extract from section 118 of the National, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002: ----------------...

Please note that you can only apply for the transitional arrangement (IGS to PSW) in the UK and not from your home country. The best place to consult in times of confusion like this is the Border Agency website itself. Here is an extract from the website as regards your query: http://www.ukba.homeof...

candyshop , the processing time for applications varies. Some get their visas in 4 weeks, others 3 months. I think it's inaccurate and totally uncalled for to generalise that people who've been waiting for their visas for a long time now either studied from dodgy colleges or have bad immigration hi...

I beg to disagree. I was under the impression that someone on a PSW visa could apply for further leave to remain in the UK as a student using the FLR(s) if the course you've been accepted for is at degree level or above. Here's an extract from the UKCISA website: ------------------------------------...

Sorry about your refusal. The period after a refusal is always a trying one, so I understand how you're feeling. Don't panic, OK. If you decide to leave, you have to do so within 28 days of your refusal (31st January). On the other hand, if you decide to go ahead with the appeal, you have to do so b...

I actually never planned on joining this forum due to the deplorable depths it's reached no thanks to the bogus students that have started posting on it in recent times. However, I had to because of Frontier Mole's insistence on giving wrong info (in this case) despite Diokpa trying to correct him. ...
