The proof of cohab means you both lived at the same address at the same time. That doesn't have to be in joint names but if they are not then it is strongly advised that you 'must' sumbit more than 6 documents from 3 or more different sources in last 2 years. Just to simplify the query:

Can i show my wife's bank statement (on her name only) & my bank statement for the last 3 years as a proof of cohab?

Do i need to get the bank statements stamped as they are the downloaded copies from internet?

I'm in the same situation as you the only difference is i'm eligible to apply for ILR as per current laws on 31st July. i think we need to wait before we are 100% sure. Have you read somewhere that it is definite that new laws will be applicable to all those who are in Tier 1 category?
