any one knows which years applications are going for review according to the INIS? Ah, well, that depends who you ask. Mine is allegedly with the minister, I applied in mid '06. There are some that have already been approved from '07. The minister says that the AVERAGE is 22 months (statistically th...

Hi All,

Yesterday's PQ's say that someone was sent a letter with the ministers decision on 17/2/09 (doesn't say if it is positive or negative).

Well, it wasn't me anyway, so just wait a bit more...

Plum 70, You said "Most probably not as you would need to convince employers of your rights to work in the absence of the appropriate permit." Do you mean that I can legally work but that employers might need to be convinced? I suppose that showing them the relevant legislation would take ...

EEA2 when Non-EEA works and EEA doesn't?

Hi All,

I am Non-EU/EEA, non-visa-required, wife is EU/EEA.
We both live in a third EU/EEA country.

If we move to UK can I get EEA2 if I am working and she is not?
Can we get it after we arrive?
How long does it take?
Can I work in the meantime?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi Strongbow, If you have LTR, then your approval letter would be proof of 5 years of reckonable residence, would it not? I am keeping mine safe for exactly that reason. Same could be said of your naturalisation approval. This might be a bit of a tenuous connection, but they are all from the departm...

Date of applicaton: mid '06 Date when additional docs supplied (P21, affidavit etc): late '08 Basis of application (5 yrs work/irish spouse etc): 5 yrs work Current Citizenship: not going to say, but it wouldn't typically be viewed as a "dodgy" country. Sorry to be a bit vague, but I don't...

Hi crown,
I was told that my application has been sent to the minister for a decision.
Does anyone know how long he takes for this?
Does he sit down and do them once a month?
Or every, let's say, wednesday?
Any clues?

Hi Strongbow, Just my 2 cents worth... I think the crucial phrase is: "(b) the issue of the certificate is necessary in all the circumstances of the case". Arguably, it isn't necessary, since the passport is proof of identity/nationality. If I was the civil servant answering your letter, t...
