Thanks, I was able to find their previous post on this topic. Apparently they had an appeal hearing in January (according to the post); I sent them a PM but there is nothing thus far. I'm very curious about the fact that while the BVC, according to the Tier 1 calculator, is worth 0 points, qualifica...

Yes, in the context of a thread on a different topic, on a different board. I've used the Tier 1 points calculator on the BA website and it seems to show the BVC with 0 points. However, qualification as 'barrister' yields 35--the thing is, all one needs to qualify as a barrister (non-practising) aft...

Bar Vocational Course--counted as postgrad/masters?

Hey guys. Just a quick question for those of you in the know. Is the Bar Vocational Course (professional qualification for barristers in the UK) considered a Masters/post-graduate for purposes of Tier 1 applications, particularly pursuant to the new April rules? It's a year-long, full-time taught qu...

Thanks--I had a look at their website, and it seems like they mostly focus on juxtaposing foreign qualifications to UK levels; I'd rather not waste 40 pounds by submitting a query they couldn't answer. Would it perhaps be possible to ask someone at BA about this? I imagine they are quite familiar wi...

Thank you, that sounds reasonable. Would you happen to know where to find such information? So far, I found on a different board, the general requirement that the course consist of a year full-time... They also seem to accept some professional qualifications, which I think the BVC falls under.

You seem to be quite experienced in ILR matters-I just wanted to ask whether the years of working have to be consecutive or if they can be counted if interrupted by study. I.e. if I currently am on a 2 year work permit, then plan to do a year-long course, followed by 4 years of tier 1--would my 2 ye...

effects of masters' requirement

Hello. New to the forum, but I've heard there is some excellent expertise knocking about here, so hopefully I can benefit from it. Here's my situation, followed by a few questions: I've recently graduated from law school (3 year student visa) and have been granted a 2 year work permit. I intend to p...
