Yes, as long as they are instant access types (though how they will find that out I dont know). I have used that, and have been approved. Just to clarify, it does not need to be instant access. The rules in the guidance booklet states that notice accounts are acceptable too. What will probably be n...

About time they had appointment bookings online! However, i got on today at about 9:30am, and no appointments available at ANY of their offices for the weeks ahead. I think the availability is still very limited, and they don't say when they release new slots, only on a "daily" basis. I ha...

Too few staff to deal with all the applications? I personally think that a short interview is best, as its the best way for the immigration officer to judge if its a sham education visa and also to judge the English language level. But having said that, both can be judged through the English Languag...

I don't have a similar experience, but it looks liek you have met all the criteria and time waiting period. However, your case is a bit complicated and there might be aspects that the embassy hounds will pounce on to reject. Best advice, even if you get loads of other posts with advice, is to consul...

I believe all visas in the same "type" qualify... so yes, the Tier 2 and work permit times count, not sure what SEGS is...?

But, for example, even same type visas don't count sometimes, like Tier 1 General and Tier 1 PSW.

It does not. You still have to take the IELTs test, unless you obtained your ACCA from within the UK at a university/college.

The best way is to call up Halifax, and ask them to send you 3 month's worth of itemized statements by regular mail, and stress that is has to be proper statements with the bank's letterhead, etc. It is ok if the statements say "copy" on them, as those will be accepted, as long as it looks...

I don't think the number of days outside the country affect the HSMP or extensions, or the Tier 1 visa. It does, however, affect chances of applying of ILR and then eventually citizenship. The guidance is very misleading and unclear, and it seems to be at the Home Office discretion. Basically if the...

Of course, as long as the salary you have been getting monthly/regularly include payslips, and are counted in your taxes as "income" rather than "dividends" or capital gains. I do not believe Home Office will go through all the trouble to check if there are payslips, P60, and ban...

Going on holiday between switching jobs and Tier 2 visas

A friend has just been fired from her job, and her consultation ends on the 13th July. She was on the company sponsored Tier 2 visa. She found a new job with a new company, who are processing a new Tier 2 work permit for her at the moment. She is expected to start work on the 10th August. She has tr...

I think the floodgates with submitting additional evidence to the application has been wide open for a few weeks now, and the Home Office is not complaining, even though their official stance is still that you can't submit new evidence. Given your case I think your appeal should be 99% successful, b...

It is a very long process unfortuately, my student visa extension took close to 8 weeks to get processed I believe. It is unfair the time and the hassle the UKBA makes us go through, but one has to bear in mind that this is their country and we are "guests" in the UK, and because they have...

You don't need to provide a bank statement if the letter from the university or company states that they will also cover your living costs (at least £7,200 per year if course is in London, or £5,400 a year if outside London).

The money you are paying the institutions is for the degree, not for getting a visa. The UKBA doesn't see a penny of the money you pay for your education degree. And yes, we all paid the money for the visa too. If you believe the money you paid for the visa application is too much, you are welcome t...

As long as the last date of the bank statement is within 1 month of your application date (i.e. if you apply on the 20th July, then your 3 months bank statement last date of statement must not be before 20th June).

So there is leeway there already to take into account weekends.

There's no harm in calling up the Home Office to check the status of the visa. Also, your company would have hired some experienced immigration lawyers to deal with your case, so they can provide the best advice. At the end of the day though, remember that the Tier 1 visa belongs to you, while the w...

"Date of Award" means the date the visa was awarded, not when your degree was awarded. And you will only get 2 years, even if you have some time remaining on your IGS, as it is a different visa class and so counted as a "new" application, and not an "extension", even th...

I think if you try to use the CA's letter stating earnings, your chances of approval will depend on the caseworker's point of view and discretion. Certainly you will win in appeal as this is a cut and dried case, only being held up by a logistical reason of stamp and signature. The fact that your em...

Just be careful of the exchange rate requirement (i.e. know how the home office will calculate the exchange rate, as it may vary from what you might use, especially in these volatile times of currency exchange).
