Can Tier1 forms be electronically filled

Interestingly, when I called home office and inquired about sending an electronically filled and printed form, they categorically said that it should be hand written and in black ink!!!!

I am not sure if we can produce forms that are filled electronically? I could not see any sections in the general guidance to specifically point at this.

What is best recommended, hand filled forms?

From what I have seen, I understand that this should be "VAF No".

push_hsmp: Are you sure that we need to provide the number in red as against the VAF number?

Now, I am a bit confused!!!!
